Southern Cameroons Women in South Africa Planning Big MTN Protest.

Southern Cameroons women in South Africa are taking the lead to protest at MTN head office in South Africa over MTN corporation with Government to shut down internet. The Women said the March is against MTN taking sides with the Terrorist Dictator Paul Biya by cutting lines in the Southern Cameroons while our people are being massacred.
They have invited South Africa and other international Media to cover the event in South Africa. The protest will take place on Friday 28th January 2017 at Fairlands, Johannesburg
The group is therefore calling on all Southern Cameroons women in South Africa to close their shops, take a leave, and don’t go to work on that day. In the words of the coordinator, she said ” If you are a son or daughter of the Southern Cameroons, make sure you are there… Be counted…. Our people continue to be killed, massacred, raped, maimed, abused, unlawfully arrested… YOU CAN NOT BE SILENT..”

It should be recalled that Anglophone regions in the Republic of Cameroon what is known historically as Southern Cameroons has been on protest since October 2016 with schools and courts shutdown. The people have also engaged in multiple Ghost towns called by the Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium. The Consortium has maintained that schools remain shutdown indefinitely and has declared a month-long Ghost towns from Monday 23rd January to 23rd February 2016. This will occur every Monday and Tuesday on each week.
