Union Remnants Refuse 100 Million Bribe To Call Off Strike Action
On Friday 20th January 2016, the interim leaders of the consortium warned any groupings having meeting with the government to call off the strike. As announced over CRTV, some remnants of the teachers union leaders had a meeting in Bamenda. However, senior journalist Franklin Sone Bayen said the Union leaders who attended the meeting said they cannot resume school while their colleagues are arrested. They also supposedly refused 100 million bribed to call off the strike and some reportedly offered themselves to be arrested. Read on.
“WE CAN’T CALL OFF STRIKE WHILE GOV’T IS HUNTING DOWN OUR COLLEAGUES “, TEACHER UNIONISTS TELL GOV’T IN BAMENDA TODAY
Apparently taking advantage of the absence of hardline teachers’ union leaders (CATTU’s Wilfred Tassang and SYNES-UB’s Dr James Abangma both in hiding) and Barrister Agbor Balla Nkongho and Dr Neba Fontem both in detention, the government tried to persuade and armtwist remnants of the resistant block to sign a statement calling for schools resumption next Monday, thinking they were dealing with a diminished group.
The effort has just flopped in Bamenda, my source has revealed.
Word had circulated in Bamenda that the remaining leaders had received a total sum of 100 million francs as bribe to append their signatures. True or false, the leaders refused to sign. they said a school boycott decision signed by six union leaders cannot be called off by four of them still walking free.
My source says one of the union leaders even walked into the north west Governor’s office and offered to be transfered to Yaounde for detention. He said even detention in Yaounde would be much better than facing the people’s wrath for betraying a collective cause.
The teachers’ union leaders who thus defied the government today are those of TAC, Catholic, Baptist and Presbyterian teachers.

No Meetings at all untill all arrested, detained, killed, missing are accounted for and compensated. Let them arrest all of us. We will not go to school. Why are they forcing us? It is our decision, it is our future, one which they have never cared for. So what is their problem?
The strike continues
In the name of our our Heavenly Parents:God, we are pleading the Cameroonian Government to release all the leaders of the Consortium Striking Committee. We are shocked to see how these leaders are being tortured, maimed, some raped, killed and some jailed. We pray for the clemency of President Paul Biya to allow these individuals that are created by God to exercise their inalienable rights! Rev.Georges Tegha: Director, Christ Winners International USA.
Thank you, I strongly applaud these statements. What is their problem really, it is our future, our lives which they never cared for. May we stand firm and strong
The strike continues. # release all illegally detained
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, May God bring an immediate, positive and peaceful solution to our beloved country Cameroon, let all the Cameroonians arrested be release.
No school, ghost town continues until our leaders are release, complete cessation, the death n the raped been accounted for. There will be ni school. Cos there’s no education without future.
We shall end to nothing till our statehood is restored. No amount of killing and forceful and unlawful arrest and detentions will stop southern cameroonians from restoring back their statehood which has been annexed by la Republique for 55years. Every evil on our land will never go free for the blood of those you continue to spilt will continue to hunt you people and your entire generations to come. Those carrying these diabolic act on our land will never see good till the end of time.
Any Ambazonian who receives bribe from the barbaric government of la Republique du Cameroun in order to call off the ongoing operations should be burned at the stakes. Such act of betrayal should never be tolerated. We are not about to forget the wanton acts of savagery meted out against our young women and fellow citizens at the universities of Buea and Bamenda by the jack booted thugs masquerading as security agents of the occupying and annexing regime, nor will we forget. The innocent blood of our compatriots will be on any one who attempts to engage in any felonious act of treachery.
It will never be the same again. Never!! Southern Cameroonians have sacrificed more than enough to bring dignity to ‘La Republique du Cameroun’: we bailed them out from their makizar war, we challenged Ahidjo when they couldnt, we forced multiparty and free speech into their system, we have ceaselessly challenged the oligarch and dictator Biya and refused to dine with him…It will never be the same again!!!!!
