Okada boys today July 19th engaged in a mass protest in the city of Kumba, meme county, Southern Cameroons following the extra judicial arrest of an okada guy who was excited reading a news paper which carried information about the current struggle in Southern Cameroons. His excitement about the new interim government headed by Sisiku AyukTabe Julius and Tassang Wilfred as President and Vice lead to his judicial arrest by plainn cloth police officiers who are now every where monitoring our people. Reports say he was reading and explaining to people by his side saying schools must not resume without knowing a plain cloth officer was by his side.
In a swift reaction, the okada boys in kumba mobilized and block roads demanding his immediate released.The said gentle man who was arrested is called ATANGA DURAND. Military and police occupied the town of Kumba. An eyewitness said.’ I’m presently at the scene the entire commercial street of kumba is militaries with tear gas. The guy in question is stil under police detention with wounds all over his body. An eye witness told me on phone. Where are we heading to he further question? Are these the kind of people we really want to be with? I say a big NO.” We are still out with police and Gerdameries from BUEA because Atanga Durand bought a newspaper and was explaining the information from it to others when he was immediately abducted. Reading a news about Southern Cameroons is now a crime? That’s how La Republique du Cameroun treats Southern Cameroonians. Tassang Wilfred, Barrister Eyambe Ebai, Nalova Bih, Solomon Ambo, Ashu Kingsley, Akoson Raymond, Akoson Pauline Diale, Besong Irene Eyong, Iteo Francis, and many others have been forced into exile by the repressive regime of Mr Biya Paul.
This situation must Not be allowed to continue, so far more than 150 Southern Cameroonians have been abducted and some cited above are in Exile.
In a related news, still in Kumba the administrative blocks of GBHS kumba has been roasted. In a message circulating on Whatsapp, the Black Cats of Ambazonia Kumba county says they have roasted the administrative block with the principal’s office completely burnt destroying all documents and computer. BaretaNews made some calls to its correspondent in Kumba to verify this information. It happened that it is true. The whatsapp message concluded by saying schools shall not resumed. And as a matter of fact Southern Cameroons must be free and Schools must not resumed until we have a referendum for our Independence and all arrested must be unconditionally released.
