Ambazonia v. La Republique du Cameroun: Atanga Nji Sponsored AAC111 in Buea: DEAD ON ARRIVAL

Dear All,

We are all privy to certain events happening on ground zero that if taken individually might not capture any grand design but if considered jointly then the picture becomes clear. These events include the following:

1) There were averments that Atanga Nji has gone to Bamenda to meet the Bishop and the Catholic church but this was later rejected by the Catholic church but many suspected that he is conniving on something grand and diabolical with the Catholic church for valuable consideration in the form of greater subvention to the churches;
2) There are statements in the press that the USA has given Biya marching orders to open a national dialogue on the form of state and perhaps address the root causes of the present crisis;
3) Tchiroma, the La Republique du Cameroun minister of communication has openly stated that they are looking for the “right” persons to dialogue with on the “Anglophone crisis”

Atanga Nji has been alleged to have attempted to create its own militia on the ground to counter the Amba boys but this seems not to be working smoothly. He has tried to use Chiefs and Fons to create confusion in various localities it is alleged but this seems things are not going smoothly since ministers and fons are being accused of not doing enough in the localities to derail the Ambazonia drive.

With the above not producing adequate results, and with the USA insisting on a dialogue on “form of state”, the most important assignment agreed with the minister of territorial administration is to “form its own dialogue team” to claim it is representing “Anglophones”

The agreed approach is to use Munzu who has always been on the side of La Republique du Cameroun and has always wanted us to be attached to La Republique du Cameroun under a Unitary but decentralized State or some form of federation be it 2 state, 4 state or 10 states. Because Munzu is considered to having sold out Southern Cameroonians in AAC1 and AAC2, Atanga Nji and his team realized they have credibility issues and they needed someone with gravitas to whitewash the about to be created negotiation team. It was then decided to procure Cardinal Tumi to be the face of the created team. To make it inclusive, considering that the government gives heavy subventions to the Catholic and Presbyterian churches, the Moderator of the PCC was also to be procured to add credibility and then an Imam had to be added let it not look like a Christian jamboree.

The masterplan is to get a friendly and malleable negotiation team that appears inclusive (even civil society included) which is by design favourable to a Federation and make some form of purported dialogue on form of state, to show the USA and the international community that there is dialogue, and to make sure that the worst that can come out of such purported dialogue is perhaps some form of watered down federation of many states or worst case of two states but with the states having very limited powers, hoping that it would be some contraption that would be depending on financial handouts from Yaounde to survive has cannot be a threat to the powers in Etoudi.

Cardinal Tumi is a man who stayed quiet when a Ghanaian man of God was slaughtered in broad daylight, He has stayed quiet when priests are being slaughtered, he has been less vocal when 180,000 people are in bushes, his voice has been hardly heard when over 1000 Southern Cameroonians have been killed in the past 2 years. His matery of the French language and having worked most of his life in francophone Cameroun makes him a die heart federalist that the government has succeeded to procure to counter the interim government and the Ambazonian movement.

Conclusion
La Republique du Cameroun is under enormous pressure to dialogue on the form of State, to address the root causes of the present crisis and it is afraid to engage with the interim government or with the real representatives of the Ambazonian people. Atanga Nji has decided to create a friendly dialogue team that purports to represent “Anglophones” and has procured Munzu, to form the team, using federalist Cardinal Tumi to launder the image of the team and give it credibility. The failure of the interim government for months to create a dialogue team is being exploited by Atanga Nji to create one and fill the gap.

Cardinal Tumi, PCC Moderator and the Imam should realise that they are church men and not politicians and if they want to be treated like politicians then they should drop their cassocks and prepare to be tainted with the mud of politics. They have no mandate given by anyone to organize a political conference. They have no mandate to represent the people politically. They can organize religious conferences and talk about Christ and Allah and not “form of State”.

The direction these purported men of God are going, tomorrow they will be considered sellouts and then there will be a clamour for their “arrest” by Amba boys. It is not too late for them to sever their ties with Atanga Nji. The purported political AAC111 in Buea, sponsored by Atanga Nji, convened by men of God who have decided to jump into the political arena whilst neglecting their religious calling is DEAD ON ARRIVAL. AAC1 and AAC11 held without the need for La Republique army to provide “adequate security” so why will Munzu claim that the religio-politico AAC111 will have La Republique du Cameroun army providing adequate security?. If he is doing the right thing why does he need all the adequate security?.
