First Week of Ambazonia’s National Lockdown Concludes, as Freedom Fighters Unveil Plans for Final Phase

Freedom forces in Ambazonia have praised the population for their unwavering support during the first week of a 10-day national lockdown, while outlining a strategic roadmap for the final phase of the shutdown. As a reprieve, civilians are granted Saturday and Sunday to restock their homes in preparation for the second and potentially more intense week of the lockdown.
In a show of solidarity with the liberation forces, the people of Ambazonia have defied attempts by the colonial regime to disrupt the lockdown. In towns and cities across the region, businesses remained closed, despite the regime’s efforts to force compliance. In Buea, the colonial mayor ordered the seizure of mobile money kiosks and the destruction of market tables used by businesswomen, while teachers faced dismissal threats for adhering to the lockdown.
The entire territory, with the exception of Nkambe in Donga Mantung County, successfully complied with the lockdown. In Nkambe, locals were reportedly forced at gunpoint to carry on with daily activities, a move that has drawn the attention of freedom fighters. They have vowed to take swift action against those promoting defiance in the area.
As the first week concludes with notable success, freedom forces are amplifying their calls for even greater collaboration from the population during the second week. They urge civilians to ignore the regime’s attempts to undermine the lockdown, emphasizing that their compliance is crucial to avoiding civilian casualties during confrontations with colonial soldiers.
“Our population must stay home because we don’t want to lose more civilians. That’s why in Kumba, we did not shoot those who violated the lockdown and went to the market. But this coming week will be different across the national territory,” a Kumba-based general warned.
With the stakes growing higher, the second and final week of the lockdown, which begins on Monday, is expected to bring heightened security risks. Civilians are strongly advised to remain indoors for their safety, as freedom fighters prepare for what could be a decisive phase in the ongoing battle for Ambazonian independence.
