On D-day on the 6th of June 1944 in Normandy in France, the Second World War scenario changed as allied forces overwhelmingly forced occupying German forces to retreat. It marked the beginning of the liberation of the captured people and the occupied territories of Europe. The determination, solidarity and resilience of allied forces brought victory soon. September 22nd 2017 is D-day for the captured people and occupied territory of Southern Cameroons. With determination, solidarity and resilience the people will rise in their numbers and overwhelm the occupying forces on their land. This day will mark the real beginning of the restoration of the statehood of Southern Cameroons. As the countdown to that day continues, what kind of Southern Cameroonian are you?

Are you the Southern Cameroonian hiding somewhere like a frightened puppy with your tail in between your legs, afraid even to bark, talk less of biting? Are you the type so afraid that you are ready to give up your identity and beg for food, shelter and protection from the enemy?

Are you the doubting Thomas type waiting to see before you believe? Are you the type still wondering whether it is really possible for a people to rise in their numbers and claim their freedom from an occupying army?
Are you the aloof Southern Cameroonian? Are you the one saying “Struggle or no struggle, it’s none of my business” and going about your daily activities normally without an iota of concern?

Are you the Judas of Southern Cameroons ready to give the enemy everything you can for cheap cash and some promises? Are you the one marching with the oppressed during the day and sleeping with the oppressor later at night?

Are you just the weak-minded one that easily gives up when there is a little obstacle or setback? Are you the type that needs to be dragged along all the way and sometimes needs to be carried on the shoulder by others as they continue fighting?

Are you the toothless barking dog type? Are you the type that makes all the noise all day long and all night long but is conspicuously absent when it is time for basic actions to back what has been discussed?
Or are you the silent doer? Are you the type that believes in “actions speak louder than words”?
Are you the lazy carpenter that finds faults with all tools? Do you think nothing is working the way it should and that x y z ought to be changed?

Are you the kind of Southern Cameroonian that just cannot wait? Are you the type too eager for restoration – so much “in a hurry to rush into the pleasures of the world like the young antelope who danced herself lame when the main dance was yet to come”?

Are you the miracle-waiting type? Do you believe with prayers alone everything will miraculously work out in your favor?

Are you the true hero of this revolution, the patient, clever and tactful fighter, the David that knows the might of Goliath but not scared, the determined one, the one that leaves no man behind, the one that pulls along the fallen, the one that is ready to pay the ultimate price for the survival of the others, the one that leaves no loose ends and is as solid as a rock?

Knowing what kind of Southern Cameroonian you are in this revolution is important but even more important is knowing what kind of comrades surround you. If you don’t know what kind of person you are as far as this revolution is concerned and you don’t know the nature of the comrades around you, then you

  1. On 22nd of September the oppressor will see that we’re determined. No way back. People have no fear. Yaoundé is already frightened. Their president is hiding in Switzerland to rest his powerless bones. But our interim leader went straight to US. See the difference. We know what we want. The opposite is crumbling. Victory is for us.

  2. There is a citizen REGISTRY. We will know who is sitting on the sidelines, traitors, enemies, sabotiers, and people using our struggle for personal gain.

  3. My problem is that a large majority of Southern Cameroonians expect independence to be given to them by some outside super force. It shouldn’t be that way.
