SCAF’s ADVISORY ON THE FEBRUARY 5-14 NATIONAL SHUTDOWN

January 25 2019

The Southern Cameroons Activists Front-SCAF sitting in its ordinary session on Thursday, 24th January 2019 took notice of the broad base unified voices coming from our Self Defense Forces on Ground Zero (Southern Cameroons) with regards to the February 5th to 14th, 2019 lockdown of Ambazonia.

SCAF appreciates the Self Defense Forces who heeded to the call of the population to reduce the lock down period and urges the Self Defense Forces to continue to protect our land within internationally accepted standards.

As messengers of our people’s revolution in the media landscape, we unanimously support this decision of the Ambazonia Self Defense Forces, to lock down Ambazonia within those prescribed days.

SCAF’s Decision is informed by the need to continuously draw the attention of the national and International community, that Southern Cameroonians now govern themselves and that there is the need to keep our population safe from the brutality of the Yaounde regime which has for three years been killing our people and burning down our villages.

To ensure that the local populations in all the 13 counties stay safe, SCAF strongly recommends the following:

1. That all Southern Cameroonians at home should begin taking appropriate measures to ensure that this 9 day lockdown is respected by stocking their homes with basic necessities such as food items and first aid medications.
2. That our Self Defence Forces have called on all LRC government offices, institutions to remain closed and understand that some emergency services like hospitals, churches and banks will remain operational during these periods. We urge our forces to ensure the protection of these sacred places whenever need be.

3. Southern Cameroonians at home must be very observant of any strange faces and occurrences in their neighbourhoods and remain vigilant in case of any eventualities and emergencies.

4. We are not sure lockdown means Ambazonians should just stay indoors for the nine days since Self Defense Forces are in full control of the shutdown. What we however know is that transportation, movements; businesses will be grounded in a very organized manner, to show the world we are a civilized people who know how to respect decisions. Inter urban transporters will also need to be cautious with the decisions they take.

Above all, SCAF advices every Southern Cameroonian to stay safe and keep safe as we all continue to demand the complete liberation of our homeland.

We thank you all for your resilience and sacrifices.
