Nigeria Extends Medical Largesse to Amazonian Refugees, as Secretary, Health and Social Services Intensify Relief Efforts

As tension between Ambazonian revolutionary elements and the colonial forces of La Republique du Cameroun escalates, with possibilities of a rise in the number of Ambazonia Refugees in Nigeria; the Federal Government of Nigeria, on Monday 27th November, 2017 began offering free treatment and the distribution of drugs to Southern Cameroons/Ambazonian refugees in Cross River State, Nigeria. The decision came after an interactive session between officials of the Southern Cameroons Civil Defense Cabinet and those of the Ikom Local Government Council, the Local Government where Ambalanders are taking refuge.

Speaking to Heat FM, a local Nigerian Radio, the Executive President of the Southern Cameroons Civil Defense Cabinet, Killy Clarence expressed appreciations to the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Nigerian High Commission for Refugees, for making available to Ambazonian Refugees, drugs and other medial facilities to enable the people get proper medical attention. He added that the High Commission is providing health cards to all the Refugees, that they will be presenting to medical officials in any government hospital for free treatment. Clarence also expressed thanks to the Governor Ben Ayade’s Administration of Cross River State and the Chairman of Ikom Local Government Council for providing an additional 500 space accommodating for the Refugees, just around the Council premises.

In a related development, the Interim Government of Ambazonian, through its Secretary of State for Health and Social Services, Comrade Calech Bongo, has intensify relief efforts towards assisting the Refugees. In an update on the humanitarian efforts on the 28th November, 2017, Comrade Bongo, informed the public that containers of relief materials for Ambazonian Refugees are almost full in Mid-West – Michigan area, Belgium, South East -Atlanta Area and Mississippi. The HSS Secretary, said the IG is still collecting donations, and on behalf the President expressed gratitude to all donors for their sacrifices.

  1. very nice word towards nigeria for welcoming you – but remember in the north of cameroon LRC as you call it did the same to their refugees from nigeria – so nothing new here

    Futher more -during the biafra war cameroon helped nigeria a Lot .
