The Minister of Finance (Minfi), Alamine Ousmane Mey, has affirmed in an official communiqué that from the 12 September 2016, the Inland Revenue Administration will be modernised. Hence, biometric data collection will be introduced to the tax-payer registration operations.

MINFI boss revealed that the new system will be done progressively and will involve only tax-payers with large enterprises, medium enterprises tax offices and specialised tax offices in Yaoundé.




The communiqué from the Government indicates that the registration process is free. The Inland Revenue Administration shall give each taxpayer a new single identification number, with a 10-year validity.
Minister Alamine Ousmane Mey concluded that this new changes will offer more security to the users and will contribute to the significant improvement of the inland revenue administration in the country.
