As Africa becomes an increasingly attractive location for international business ventures, starting a business venture in Africa successfully requires an understanding of the cultures and societies present on the continent. Africa is still largely considered unmapped territory for the business world and education, compared to other regions, so getting to know the challenges and intricacies of doing business in Africa and working alongside African colleagues and their traditions could provide companies and universities with an edge by starting on the right foot.

The VIVES Africa Business Forum 2016 will explore the reality of business in Africa with the aim of increasing awareness of the opportunities on the continent, creating meaningful connections, and generate actionable insights. it is organized by the VIVES University College Kortrijk, an associate of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. The forum will seek to deepen entrepreneurship training and economic relations between Flanders-Belgium and Africa. The forum is aimed at promoting entrepreneurship education and business relations between Flanders-Belgium and Africa.
