Citizens of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia shall be listening and watching the State of the Union Address of President Ayuk Tabe, this Sunday December 31, 2017. Being the last and very important speech for 2017, Ambazonians from the nooks and crannies of the Northern and Southern Zones, await the speech with great expectation.

In opinion samplings conducted by BaretaNews across the two zones, the people are hoping the Interim President touches on education, health, and diplomacy. Many are of the opinion that, the separation from La Republique du Cameroun (LRC) should come faster than normal.

According to Ayankeng Julius of Menji, Lebialem County of Southern Zone, the speech is very important for his people. He anticipates that the speech will chart a road map for a new school year to begin next Monday January, 8, 2018.

“It is no news that no school door was open in Lebialem this year. We have respected the information given us by our leaders to only expect school next January 8, 2018. So, I know our President, HE Ayuk Julius Tabe, will tell us how that will happen,” Ayankeng added.

For her part, Mama Berinyuy Blondine, of Nso indicated that she shall be glued to her TV sets, hoping to hear the great strides leaders of the great nation of Ambazonia have made. She opined that, she will wish the president to talk a lot on national security.

“We here in Nso leave as refugees I our own land. We have constant harassment and arbitrary arrests carried out by the colonial forces of LRC. I wish that President Ayuk Julius, tell us how his defence department has been strengthened so we can get rid of these terrorist forces that have invaded our land,” Mama Blondine said.

In Buea, residents are hoping the IP talks a lot on diplomacy, a toll, according to them, will precipitate the separation from LRC.

“I think that the President Ayuk Tabe should tell us how much diplomatic gains we have attained so far. We need to be in the know on the diplomatic activities the government has carried out so far, and what next, in terms of diplomacy,” said Mokoko Molombe Innocent, a resident of Mile 16, Buea.

Some Ambazonians are worried with the imbroglio and power tussle that is plaguing some leaders abroad. Those BaretaNews talked with, indicated that such misunderstandings are not healthy for the struggle.

“We are seeing on social media how some leaders are quarrelling among themselves and giving names to each other. I strongly believe that such moves should be condemned and corrected as soon as possible. While such misunderstandings prevail, LRC I making mockery at us and the international community would not take our leaders seriously. I strongly appeal that the President should talk about that,” lamented Mayok Bessem, a resident in Manyu County.

The End of year speech of President Ayuk Tabe will be live tomorrow online, and on the Southern Cameroons Broadcasting Corporation (SCBC). Though the time of the speech is yet to be made known, it is highly anticipated that the speech will be aired as from 6pm.

BaretaNews shall provide commentary and analysis reports on the speech.

  1. Iam a teacher living without salary after crooked lrc refused to compensate those of us in the private sector. Iam in full support of our president His Excellency Ayuk Tabi to address the Ambazonian Republic

  2. Who would have believed that a peaceful demonstration initiated by lawyers and teachers union to denounce the marginalization of anglophones of the southwest and northwest regions of Cameroon will result in killing of innocent Cameroonians of English speaking origin. Who would have imagined that soldiers and police officers are deployed to go and kill other Cameroonians at the risk of their lives is worrisome. This goes to confirmed that indeed anglophones are being marginalized in their Country. This is a problem that does not require any brainstorming or academia for quick fixes. We can not afford to live in our country as strangers. We can not continue doing the same thing and expect different results…this is insanity. How come we identify Cameroonians as terrorist secessionist that depict hate not love for your own. Are these not the same people who voluntarily united with LRC to form the federal republic of West Cameroon(anglophone), and East Cameroon (francophone)? If dialogue with anglophones leaders is the problem then, allow them return to their formal status of West Cameroon with absolute rights to elect their local governments, governors, set up the courts that suits and uphold their respective values, tradition and / or culture simplicita.

    1. For la republic progress means wiping out the anglo-saxon culture. For la republic progress means suppressing people and exploiting them. for la republic the anglophones are a conquered people. They just forget to know that the psychological torture and determination of the people shall prevail and can NEVER BE CRUSHED.

  3. It is true the people have various expectations at speedy counts. It is true the people want to know everything and in details on what we are doing. But it is also true that we are dealing with devils at various levels:
    1) we are dealing with anglophone sell outs who are ready to sell their people for their selfish enrichment.
    2) we are dealing with non progressive passive critics in Ambazonia who have nothing to contribute constructively apart from condemning others’ pains taking actions ( witch hunting)
    3) We are dealing with paid information sell out individuals ( ambazonians as well as non ambazonians) who claim to be professional journalists.
    4) We are dealing with people who are already looking at power and positioning in the Ambazonian leadership even before the struggle. they concentrate on trying to destroy others so as to acquire a position….
    5) we are dealing with people who desperately need money and the struggle has become a means of winning their daily bread and woe to anyone who tries to put them aside…
    6) and we are dealing with La republic and France who are very vigilant in doing everything possible from bribery, corruption,… and will use any of the above disgruntle individuals to achieve their aims by destroying or weakening the struggle of the people of Southern Cameroon.
Therefore I think the President should choose his words when addressing Ambazonians because we are at war declared on us and the enemy within and without are vigilant.

Mr President, we need hope but the less you say and the more you do the better for this struggle.
