7 La Republique Footballers Refuse to play for Cameroun

Seven Cameroun footballers shortlisted by Cameroun head coach, Hugo Broos have refused to answer the call and play for the national team. This is coming at a time when the country is in a tense mood. La Republique should be facing enormous challenges
35 players were published by the head coach for the preparation of the African Cup of Nations 2017 hosted in Gabon. We are told seven players immediately responded by informing the head coach that they will not be a part of his plan. The Belgian technician will be forced to look more at home talents
The players who declined the offer from the coach included
1- André Onana (Ajax of Amsterdam).
2- Guy Roland Ndy Assembe (Nancy)
3- Joel Matip (Liverpool) who said he did not want to play with the Indomitable Lions because of a bad experience with the previous technical staff.
4- Allan Nyom (West Bromwich) has chosen to remain in the club to keep his place.
5- Maxime Poundje (Bordeaux), chose to play for France.
6- André Zambo Anguissa (Olympique Marseille), favors his club.
7- Ibrahim Amadou (Lille OSC), privileges his club.
