Today morning, West Cameroonians got up with the horrific news that Car of Dr. Fontem, Secretary General of the Consortium was burnt to ashes. The car was packed at the health unit of the University of Buea. Like Michelle Obama said, ” When they go low, we go high “. BaretaNews recalls and brings to you these powerful 5 points from Dr. Fontem as we approach Ghost Towns Season 2 across West Cameroon on Monday, 16th and Tuesday, 17th January 2017.
My Fellow West Cameroonians;
A few hours to the start of our “Civil Disobedience”, the weapon we have been divinely instructed to use against the forces of oppression that wreak havoc and cause bloodshed, I wish to remind you again that:
1. Our struggle is a peaceful resistance, not a violent one. No citizen, worthy of West Cameroon should take part in any form of violence or take part in any bloodshed. Teachers will not go to school, so children, don’t bother to go to school. The indigenes of West Cameroon are heroically and collectively resolved to resist until their demands are met.
2. Anyone who dreams of enjoying the citizenship of West Cameroon should do well to keep their children at home so that State provocateurs will not use them to inflict violence on our community again. We have known shame, lack, abuse and all forms of human suffering, but only self-discipline will take us through.
3. Our God is God of justice and truth. He defends the weak. He delivered Israel from the hands of Pharaoh with his mighty army. He will do same for us. So, we do not have to fight to achieve it. God will do it for us.
4. Anyone who plans to betray this cause should imagine what will happen when God finally gives us the victory. The shame will be too much for you and your future generations. Think about that and don’t doubt what God can do.
5. Finally, I thank the Church and all the Men Of God for their prayers and intercessions. We look forward to a nation that will serve God in truth and in spirit, free from intimidation, marginalization and the fear of the unknown.
God bless our peaceful struggle.
Dr. Fontem A. Neba
Secretary General
Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium

[14/1 12:27] +237 54155258: BOYCOTT THIS GHOST TOWN IN THE SW
???? No son or daughter of Ambasebe,
❤ No child of Sawa origin,
???? No Southwesterner should take part in this other ghost town programmed for Monday 16th January 2017.
We cannot afford to halt economic activities in the South West because of unfounded instructions given by an illegal Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium.
AS IF SHUTTING UP OUR SCHOOLS INDEFINITELY IS NOT ENOUGH, NOW THEY WANT TO PARALYSE OUR TOWNS.
No ghost will appear in the SW on Monday. The government has our mandate to proceed with the use of coecion, to bring back sanity to this part of the country. THERE CAN NEVER BE TWO CAPTAINS IN A SHIP!!!
[14/1 12:31] +237 54155258: TASSANG WILFRED IS MISLEADING YOU
***Balbine Namondo***
All these TEACHERS who are silent now that Tassang Wilfred is playing the hero, I hope they will be silent when their salaries will be suspended in the advent of the cancellation of this acedemic year!!! Yes!! Because I am sure that some of these teachers don’t agree with him but are quiet about it. Please teachers, arise and make your stand known or you might suffer along with Tassang Wilfred and his gand when the time is ripe!!!!
[14/1 12:33] +237 54155258: THE SW ALSO WANTS FEDERATION BUT NOT WITH THE NW
***Jude Eze***
A federal system of government is expensive but the necessary option to contain the Abakwa brigandage once and for all. Federalism is also the only way SW can autonomously exist without the Anglophone contraption. Buea is the cradle of Cameroon civilization, and I am confident a federal dispensation will consider a special status for Buea in order to rid it further consortium fever. The only disadvantage therein after is that, a federal system will keep the NW in perpetual political and economic isolation, because of lack of resources and jobs – whilst the exodus to other states like SW, Littoral, and Center States for economic reasons.
[14/1 12:38] +237 54155258: THE NW SHOULD STOP INSTRUMENTALISING THE SW, WE ARE NOT YOUR FOOLS!!!
Elvis Mokake
Southwesterners should wake up and wake up now, this is getting out of hands. Anybody who doesn’t see the struggle has been hijacked and misled should look again. The NW is dictating the agenda and this is the reason we are having this deadlock now. They are bent on dividing the country and leaning on the Southwest SOLELY for the richness of our land, hypocrites. From Bamenda to Kumbo to Fiango/Kosala Kumba, Mutengene, Munyenge, Tiko is the same people spear heading all the violence, we know them.
[14/1 12:43] +237 54155258: WITH WHO DOES THE NW WANT A TWO STATE FEDERATION?
Elvis Mokake
Look at the violence going on in Bamenda right at this hour, teachers working on negotiating their demands and Okada riders flood the place in their hundreds chanting two state federation. My question is with who?? The fake news that was being propagated that the teachers were held against their will and forced to sign to end the strike was dispelled by Dr. Fontem Neba. It is scary where this all heading to, it is as if they are looking for all means to frustrate the negotiations, then what? I agree we of the SW need to define our place in this whole quagmire and not let others speak for us. I believe we will always stand for dialogue and in a manner that will protect our interest as southwesterners, we will not be coerced into any unsolicited and potentially hostile union. My take.
*********************************************
COLONIALISM HAS BEGUN
#BadLuck!!! So schools will not resume in the southwest because they are waiting for northwesterners to say yes to the ad hoc committee? Tsuiiiiip!!!

[14/1 12:47] +237 54155258: E badt!!what nonsense is this?the earlier our SW elites define their stance, the better for us….because these people r just wasting everybody’s time with their hypocrisy, they don’t want to dialogue. They want a 2 state federation so that they too can start marginalising us with our resources…. Thank God cos it will never work…..let’s for a minute ask ourselves this question.. ” if the NW was naturally endowed and the SW not, would they be fighting for us to go with dem?I am sure in their usual greed, they would have already seceded from Cameroon!
[14/1 12:50] +237 54155258: INDIGENOUS SW TRADE UNIONS BE CREATED
Ladies and Gentlemen,
We, the Concern Indigenous Peoples of the South West Region, solemnly appeal to all Indigenous South West Professionals of various professions to move one step ahead of time and create their own Trade Unions to speak in their interests.
Blessed with much natural resources which enables the South West Region to be the leading contributor to Cameroon’s Gross Domestic Product, it is high time the Indigenous Peoples and Professionals of the South West Region stop playing follower’s role to others who envy our great natural wealth and to start playing leading roles in shaping the direction of Cameroon.
We cannot continue to allow indigenes from Regions that contribute way less into Cameroon’s Treasury as compared to what the South West Region does speak for us. Please, take actions now. Time is running out.
