AGC Cancels South Africa Conference, as ADF Issues Warning to Biya on Planned Bamenda visit

The AGC and organisers of the All Southern Cameroons/Ambazonia Conference in South Africa, which was scheduled for the 25th November, 2017, have canceled the event till further notice. In a Communique signed by a member of the organizing committee and Chairman, AGC South Africa, Fuller Ayamba, the group stated that, the security of participants of the Conference cannot be guaranteed owing to a number of reasons. Among these reasons are the increasing backlash and sabotage from different Ambazonia revolutionary groups since the successful return of the AGC C-in-C, Cho L. Ayaba from his trip to the homeland and the increasing influx and presence of LRC agents in the host city, who have been holding meetings with South African Security Officials. The statement then promised to get back to participants with information on new developments and a possible future date for the conference.

Still on the AGC, the ADF, the defense wing of the AGC has issued a warning to the President of LRC, H. E. Paul Biya to shelve his planned visit to Ambazonia, because they cannot guarantee his security or the security of any visiting Head of State, especially when he is coming without being invited by the people and Government of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia. The warning note, which was signed by the Chairman of the Ambazonia Defense Council (ADC), Benedict Kuah, informs the international community and the UNSG that, the security of Mr. Paul Biya during the uninvited visit shall not be guaranteed, at a time when many citizens of Ambazonia are being massively executed by Paul Biya’s occupation forces, with special reference to the September, 22nd and October, 1st Massacres in the land.

BaretaNews thinks that, it is a display of political sagacity on the part of the AGC leadership and Organisers of the SA Conference to cancel the event at this point in time. You will agree that the Social Media has dictated the pace of this revolution, and the planned conference had received heavy backlashes from many Southern Cameroonians online, especially as some saw it from a lens of an attempt to undermine the Interim Government of Ambazonia and further create divisions within the leadership ranks of the revolution, a situation which was never the case. However, BaretaNews news still believes that all Ambazonia revolutionary groups, especially self-defense groups must work together towards the goal of the revolution in a collaborative platform based on trust and mutual respect, while overtly or covertly collaborating closely with the Interim Government (as the case may be) to see that actions and activities are properly synchronized and coordinated.

As concerns the ADF’s warning to the colonial President, BaretaNews can only caution that it is a warning that must be taken seriously if modern history is anything to go by. When President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, planned to visit the Niger Delta Region, shortly after taking office, with the aim of kick starting the environmental cleanup of oil spilled in Ogoni land, he was warned by the restive youths in the region not to visit because of his reckless and divisive statements about the region which had angered the people. True to their words, they were serious in their plan to undermine the security of the President. It was thanks to international intelligence and intervention that President Buhari was asked to shelve his visit to the restive region.

In the case in point, there is no doubt that Southern Cameroonians are extremely bitter with the colonial government, considering the recent massacre and the ongoing military harassments and mayhem in their land. The most preoccupying thing in their minds now is their freedom from LRC through a post dialogue referendum or through a direct intervention resolution from the UN Security Council. Is Mr. Paul Biya of LRC visiting to grant any of the above two points? If not, then BaretaNews can only advised him to do the needful and avoid coming to escalate the genocide in Ambazonia, especially if anything security incident happens in the course of such an uninvited visit.
