US Congressional Hearing

Human Rights Abuses in Ambazonia: US Congress to Hold Briefing on Thursday

The US Congress, through the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, will on Thursday June 7, 2018 hold a briefing, on the human rights situation in the Cameroons. The event, which is going to have the pro Ambazonian, Professor Patrice Nganang as one of the panelists, will hold at 2255 Rayburn House Office Building, US House of Representatives.

Cameroon has been governed by President Paul Biya and his Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement since 1982. Though Biya has cultivated a reputation for stable, albeit semi-authoritarian rule, tensions in the English-speaking provinces and the ongoing fight against Boko Haram in the far north have led to a deterioration in the country’s human rights situation. Biya is up for reelection to another seven-year term in 2018, having removed presidential term limits in 2008.” The statement announcing the briefing stated

Panelists, during the briefing shall therefore be expected to discuss the atrocities of Mr. Biya’s forces in the fight against the Islamic terror group Boko Haram in the Northern part of La Republic du Cameroun, which has reportedly taken away the lives of over 1000 civilians.

“Cameroon has played a key role in regional efforts to counter Boko Haram. However, Cameroonian security forces have also reportedly perpetrated serious human rights abuses in the north, including enforced disappearances and torture, sometimes leading to death in custody. UN research has found that such abuses can undermine the effectiveness of counterterrorism efforts and increase local radicalization” the statement noted.

From the announcement of the briefing, the current genocide in Ambazonia being perpetuated by the terrorizing forces of the colonial regime, shall also be a subject of discussion.

“Cameroon’s Anglophone minority makes up between 13 and 25 percent of the population and lives primarily in the western part of the country. Tensions with the Francophone-led central government have increased since late 2016, when the government suppressed an Anglophone protest movement. Last year, the situation escalated when one Anglophone faction symbolically declared the secession of the region and some Anglophone groups took up arms. While granting minor concessions, the government has arrested dozens of activists and deployed the military to put down unrest. According to the United Nations, approximately 21,000 refugees have fled to neighboring Nigeria over the past year.” The announcement added

The briefing will therefore be an opportunity, for Ambazonians around the Washington area to storm the event with all necessary evidences of genocide and make their voices heard by the human rights commission. An added advantage of this briefing to Ambazonians, is the presence of Professor Patrice Nganang. He is the LRC born American academician, who was recently expelled from LRC by the colonial regime, because of his very critical handling of the Biya regime in relation to the current conflict.

Professor Patrice Nganang, masters the issues in the Ambazonian equation and the people therefore expect him as an intellectual and sympathizers of the revolution, to adequately represent them with a true pictorial report of the situation on ground. It is on this basis that the literary icon, on Monday, through a Facebook post, called on Ambalanders to provide him with all the available evidences of atrocities on innocent people by terrorist forces, to enable him beef up his report.

  1. Why Professor Patrice Nganang? I tough you said Francophone are all enemies and you went far to give them till the 31st of May to leave all NW/SW regions. And for those who keep talking trash about the Bamileke, did they forget that Nganang is also a Bamileke?.

    1. God can use even your enemy for your good! Not all Anglophones want to quit LRC because of the benefits they are deriving, as well as not all Francophones support the perpetuation of evil, wickedness, inhumanity and the genocide that mr. paul biya and his agents are committing on Ambazonians. Even the Devil has a very big following, if you are not careful, the majority even!

      1. @Mog please you know nothing about God as he has no ennemi.
As for the rest of your writing, I am 100% with you. The ennemi here is Biya and his chronics, but most of you took it as Anglophones vs the rest of the country just because others don’t agree with the secession idea.

      2. funding is drying up and the ambazonia soldiers have are now embarking on arm robbery, blocking roads, harassing villagers and stealing valuables. I’m wondering why countries like Belgium still harbour arm robbers like mark bareta and his disciples. This is an outcome no one wanted.

  2. There is no such thing like francophone hate anglophones. There are many francophones who are against Ambazonia and also many anglophones who are against our movement. As an Ambazonian, I have never suported the blanket attack on francophones. Many anglophones even in our families betray us for personal gain. So you thinking that the anglophones in the BIR have no part in this atrocities? give me a break.

  3. The LRC army is more than 50 years old. Each time they have a challenge, their master France and other nations will come in and help them. But against the Ambazonians, they are left to them selves and all they can do is kill armed less anglophones indescriminately, burn and loot villages, commit other atrocities in the hope that the Ambazonian fighters will give up. Sadly for them the Ambazonian fighters are becoming stronger as time goes by.
They also have in their arsenal people like the jojos paid to spend 24 hours online.

    1. Jojo is a complete and necessary distraction! I feel that he should be ignored, but something tells me that he needs education to come out of his ignorance and obscurantism. He is a figure to be pitied because he is supporting the destruction of God’s beautiful children who by divine choice, has made them who they are and given them this beautiful and resource-rich part of Africa, envied and desired, even by blood, by LRC and their Master, France. Jojo needs our help and pity! We will either invite him to join us celebrate our independence, or take refuge in our country when the time comes.

      1. Who be u to teach jojo anything? U should start by teaching urself n getting urself out of ur own propaganda be4 enlighting anyone else. If u r tired of ur exile just kill urself.

        1. Thank you my dear @Shillah. It’s very important that we realize that our country is under attack and defend it by all means necessary in the names of our ancestors.

      2. My dears @Dinga and @Mog for your information I am not a fan of Biya and I care less about him, but I am a real Patriot who loves his country and I don’t need to be pay to defend my country when under attack.
You guys need to educate yourselves on patriotism before making noises.
I am very happy with my life, so no need to feel pity for me. I have a better life than any of your so called IG.

  4. TO PROF. NGANANG AND PARNALISTS

TWO COUNTRIES: AMBAZONIA , La republique du cameroun.

It is taking the UN and the EU too long to come to grips with the genocide presently taking place in Ambazonia, perpetrated by the criminal regime of paul biya of lrc. After thousands are killed, the UN, France and the EU will come in to shamefully say they did not know what was happening like they said about Ruanda. All we know now is that biya’s criminal regime will gleefully continue kill all able bodied Ambazonians with the help of France as they did in cameroun east of the Mungo River many years ago.

A glimmer of hope is that at the presentation in the US Congress will be Professor Patrice Nganang and other panelists, who can testify, after being imprisoned by biya’s crime syndicate, THE TRUTH on the situation IN Ambazonia (Southern Cameroons). The truth is that the successive LRC regimes in power have all been criminal. Both ahidjo and biya have used terror supported by France to repress Ambazonians for simply asking TO PARTICIPATE IN THEIR NATION BUILDING. At moment, biya is killing the people from the Ambazonia where he gets 60% of lrc wealth with less than 5% applied to infrastructure development in Ambazonia.

I hope Prof. Nganang and the panelists tell US congress what’s happening on ground zero and that the best that can happen to Ambazonia and Lrc NOW is to live as TWO SEPARATE COUNTRIES. The unification thing has not worked for 56 years and will never work. Having these two peoples live together IS GIVING BIYA’S CRIMINAL REGIME THE FREEDOM TO ANNIHILATE AMBAZONIANS. THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS HAS TO SUPPORT THE TWO STATE PROPOSAL OF LRC AND AMBAZONIA LIVING AS INDEPENDENT AND SEPARATE COUNTRIE

    1. what is happening on ground zero now is that your so called soldiers are now arm robbers, blocking roads, harassing villagers and stealing valuable items. I guess they have no more funding and no education means the expected outcome.

      1. My dear @Sunshine stop wasting your time the LRC could well bring pictures of 100 plus gendarmes you claim to kill every day and the genocide will be on you now. Be very careful what you wish for.

  5. Folks lets all agree that the jojos posts on this blog more than any one. Open any article, mention the jojos in your comment and within 5 mins you will get your reply. As the people slaughter us day in day out the jojos bring some humor. If I am killed today I die knowing that I am an Ambazonian. A tale of a people who will never give up.

  6. My dear @Dinga you are absolutely right, don’t ever let your guard down. Our country is under attack and I will always find time to defend it. If I also die today, I will know that I am Cameroonian and a real Patriot.

  7. Jojo I wish you long life to see the glorious tale of the Amba people. You have two reasons to struggle for us to remain in the union.
    1- you are a francophone
2-you are being paid by your government.
But the strategy your government has so far helped in marketing the original Amba citizens. Some of us joined the Amba train only as a result of the evil you and your government has shown us. Maybe you agree with me but halas what can you do? All you have is a job.

  8. @Dinga my dear you are making a big mistake, I am 100% Anglophone who just happen to hate what you guys stand for. For your information, your movement is alive only online and in few rural areas. People are slowly fighting back and you are blind if you don’t see what is happening on ground zero. People want change, but not the type of change you guys are advocating for. People are realizing that you are nothing but crooks, who are fighting only for your own good.

  9. Ambazozo wat happened to ganang in the us congress😂😂😂😂 stupidity is something. All ur hip r only for the net.
