More than 182,000 candidates completed the rescheduled examinations following June’s paper-leak crisis.
Cameroon’s 2026 GCE examinations have recorded an overall national pass rate of 74.24%, according to the initial results released following the rescheduled examination session.
This was released at about 1 pm on Friday, August 21, 2026.
BaretaNews can confidently say that more than 182,000 candidates completed the exams after the June session was temporarily suspended over the circulation of leaked examination papers on social media.
The results show a stronger performance at the Advanced Level, particularly in technical education.
The A/L Technical category recorded the highest pass rate at 89.34%, followed by A/L General at 78.36%. At the Ordinary Level, the pass rate stood at 67.34% for Technical and 62.15% for General.
Overall, the national pass rate stands at 74.24%, bringing an end to an examination cycle marked by unprecedented disruptions and the need to reschedule several papers.
The 2026 results will now be closely watched by candidates, parents and schools as students prepare for the next stage of their academic journey.
