IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE TO DELIBERATELY DISTORT FACTS AS A MEANS TO JUSTIFY GENOCIDE UPON A PEOPLE
An Open Letter To Barrister Agbor Balla
“Barrister Agbor Balla, I am officially informing you today October 9, 2019 that Cameroun has as intent the desire to eliminate us partially or fully because we are Ambazonians. This has been reflected in its tactics of war within our Communities. There are historical parallels wherein victims of genocide or other egregious crimes have sorted and received protection from members of the very Nation responsible for the crime.
Let me inform you that Oscar Schindler is today recognized as one of the rare Germans who protected Jews. He was a member of the Nazi party and industrialists with factories that produce the ammunition that Hitler used. He employed Jews as a way of protecting them. There is also Paul Rusesabagina, a Hutu Rwandan humanitarian who, while working as a house manager at the Hôtel des Mille Collines in Kigali, hid and protected 1,268 Hutu and Tutsi refugees from the Interahamwe militia during the Rwandan genocide.
The learned Barrister must also recognize the fact that under International law, states are rarely charged with the crime of genocide; mostly Parties and individuals are subject to such accusations. Serbia might have been the only exception. So, for you to think that there are no Camerounians who will protect Ambazonians is a reflection of naivety. Do not forget that we also have Camerounians in their thousands within our territory and that despite the brutality of their government’s army on our people, we have not shown any retribution in our actions.
The non-retraction of your flawed assessment of the rationale behind the exodus of our aggrieved people will serve only one purpose – GIVE CAMEROUN THE JUSTIFICATION TO CONTINUE ITS GENOCIDE CAMPAIGN UPON THE PEOPLE OF AMBAZONIA.
