A MUST READ MESSAGE TO COMMON LAW LAWYERS: CHOOSE CAMEROUN BAR OR YOUR PEOPLE

Let me just say this and get this off our schedule. We appreciate the fact that you started this revolution in 2016 and it morphed to where it is now. The people of Southern Cameroons came behind you forcefully, gave you the support you needed and have lost a lot in that process. You stayed out for months boycotting the courts and when you finally went back to court despite the fact that nothing you asked has been resolved, we turned a blind eye because at least we understand that it is your main profession and you got families under your control and most importantly, you need to defend our people who were taken to courts. We said ok and it has been good till this day.
You asked in your demands Federation or Independence, nothing is achieved yet.

You met in Kumba, claimed to have formed a common lawyers association to defend and protect the legal system, yet nothing is done yet.
Your colleague Barrister Eyambe is in jail and many others out of the country as refugees, yet you go as if nothing is happening.
With all these things happening, we do not necessarily care, you have been allowed to go on with your profession.

However, the least thing we expected from some of you is to respect the suffering people of Ambazonia, the least we ask of you is to respect the thousands killed, the thousands displaced and thousands as refugees. The least we ask of you is to respect the vision of this revolution. But when we sit and see that most of you are running for elections in what you call Cameroun Bar Elections together with Camerounese Lawyers, it is an insult to this revolution. While you may have no issues with Camerounese colleagues, but there is an issue with the institution called BAR COUNCIL-It embodies the same relationship we decry with Cameroun government. When we are breaking chains with anything Cameroun, you cannot take us there so that we become a laughing stock.

It is very insensitive, greedy of you are participating in such an election. Let me tell you what your actions immediately mean
1. It rubbishes the foundation of this current revolution and makes a mockery of you, the common law association (Southern Cameroons Bar) you guys created in Kumba and the very reasons you guys were out protesting. How do you guys take Southern Cameroonians for?
2. It gives Mr. Biya and his regime another weapon to say, Oh you see, the lawyers who decried the legal system are still part of the system by joining the Bar Council Election.
3. Your actions legitimize Mr. Biya long-standing claims that we do not have an issue, everything is ok because how can you join a Bar Council of another country when part of your own country is at war? And for those very reasons, the revolutions points back to you, common law lawyers. Yes, the revolution has morphed to armed struggle but that does not make us insensitive to the very core of the issues at stake.

Listen, we have not said you should stop working, you need to work, I agree, but being part of the Bar Council is not part of your job or adds food on the table, it is a political move that maybe gets more money from the government or increase your legal echelon at the expense of the people. IT WILL NOT WORK.

We are saying that at least respect this revolution. The very reasons Ambazonians boycotted the Cameroun October 7th, elections, it is the same reasons you should boycott this useless Cameroun Bar Elections and allow Camerounese to do it. Understanding that the current revolution has an issue with the legality of the union, the form of state, restoration of independence etc and your participation in any BAR Council Elections or being part of it is a direct INSULT AND CANNOT BE TOLERATED-NEVER EVER HEAR ME OUT. Your participation is not a democracy, is not a freedom of association, it is BETRAYAL, BLACK LEGGING AND TANTAMOUNT TO TREASON and touches the very soul of the revolution.

We expected you COMMON LAW LAWYERS to be straightforward and tell your colleagues in Cameroun that considering the current stakes of affairs in former British Southern Cameroons, we cannot participate in such an election in all good faith until the conflict is resolved so that you guys can know where your people stand. Or why can’t you use your none refusal to ensure that lawyers still in jail, your own colleagues are released? Don’t you see this as a bargaining power? You have become so cheap and low

I am so bitter and let me just say this and I hope Ambazonians and our SELF DEFENSE FORCES will agree with me. Any Common Law Lawyer who participates in that thing called Cameroun Bar Elections, we shall make sure we publish your pictures on all media, we shall document your names, we shall present your details of where your Bar office(s) is /are located and we must make sure you are banned from Southern Cameroons for life. That is to say, when you go to Cameroun on November, 24th, 2018 to participate in that election, please STAY THERE AND DO NOT COME BACK HOME. IT WILL NOT BE BUSINESS AS USUAL.

For those who are participating, RESIGN NOW PUBLICLY, PULL BACK BECAUSE THERE ARE ALWAYS CONSEQUENCES
DON’T THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH THESE

Any lawyer who continues to work in the court system of Cameroun has indicated they are only half hearted supporters of Ambazonia. They are not serving justice but Biya. Their credentials qualify them to become English solcitors and that is something productive they can do until Ambazonia is free if they do not want to join the struggle. They must ask themselves if serving in an apartheid system helps anyone except Biya. Closing down the courts would be their greatest triumph.

The gymnastic of ‘go for bifor, go for back’ is really slowing down the revolution. Carlson Anyangwe wrote a piece some weeks ago which I hope those reading it will rethink their shaky, conditional support for the struggle. Here it is.

    OUR DISPOSITION IN THIS REVOLUTION:
    BY
    PROFESSOR CARLSON ANYANGWE

I have said it before. Let us be clear.

    1. We have only two camps: the anti-colonial, anti-slavery camp fighting for decolonisation and everlasting freedom for us all vs. the pro-colonial, pro-slavery camp agitating for our return to captivity and the depraved and humiliating horror of remaining for ever slaves and being treated as sub-humans, with no identity, dignity and worth. The one are the Nationalists, the Revolutionaries with an armed wing made up of volunteer freedom fighters determined to liberate our country and bring freedom to all our people, including even to those who are afraid to be free and would rather be slaves. The other are anti-revolutionaries, counter-revolutionaries agitating to have all of us caged forever in the hell that is French Cameroun.

    2. Only we ourselves bear the primary responsibility of bringing salvation to ourselves. We are grossly mistaken to be always looking to the outside world for our salvation. Our slavation lies in our hands and shall primarily come from our own hands. Our biggest mistake is that we refuse to tap into our creative genius to construct the wherewithall and the well considered and fully thoughtout path for our liberation. We have spent decades and still spend time listening to negative lectures and directives from outside and hoping to present the image of an ‘obedient people’ and expecting others to come and free us. Pathetic. Part of the psychology of the international community and individual states is testing the resolve of any people claiming sovereign statehood. Dogged determination, come what may, in pursuing a clear and actionable pathway to achieve sovereign independence must be our unshakable policy position.

But rather than hammer out a clear and implementable pathway and be, and remain, resolute on that, we have cut the sorrowful spectacle of a vascillating people that seem not to know what they want and always ready to jump unto whatever prescription is distilled from just any distillery: decentralization (whatever that means) and we jump in and start arguing about it instead of dismissing it peremptorily with the contempt it deserves; federation (again whatever is meant by that) and again we jump in and start arguing instead of contemptuously dismissing it as irrelevant and without object; negotiations, dialogue, mediation, conference, referendum and so on and so forth, and here too we jump in and start expatiating on those terms again, presenting the appearance of an ignorant people without a mind of its own.

Our goal is sovereign independence, sovereign statehood. We claim and assert it as a matter of right and justice. That goal, that objective must remain as constant and irremovable as the northern star. For that goal we must proclaim our readiness to continue dying for it in the course of the next fifty years, if need be. Because our epic struggle is a struggle for our very existence as a people, as individals and for our Homeland. How we attain that objective is what we must consider and put out in every detail, save for strategic and military operational details which must remain in appropriate secure hands. Self-defence guerilla operations and external engagement with carefully identified potential cooperating partners are simply the rough outlines. Details must be carefully worked out. That we have not done. Reactive episodic contrivances will not do.

Those that are going should pack everything of theirs and take alongside with them, it’s that simple. If they don’t, we will help them pack for free.

One is either with the devil Paul Biya or with Ambazonia. A couple of greedy scary people will not be allowed be destroy the future of a people.
