The Ambazonia Governing Council (AGC) have announced the creation of the FUND AGAINST IMPUNITY to generate funds to help Ambazonians detained, tortured and humiliated in jail. The Fund is an initiative of the Governing Council and micromanaged by a three persons Committee under the Chairperson of the Economic Council and in collaboration with Ambazonian lawyers. The Funds generated will be used for feeding, medical bills and most importantly to support the dozens of lawyers who defend them pro bono. The Ambazonia leaders have spoken and assembled dozens of lawyers who have offered and will continue to offer their services in the defence of our compatriots.
The release from AGC continued ” For more than 20 years, Ambazonians have been detained, tortured and killed in jail. We have lacked any basic means of defending those deprived of their liberty. This FUND is a long-term response to the problem of detentions, torture, starvation in jail and legal aid.”
The council assured that this fund will ensure that Ambazonia lawyers challenge the legality of the detentions of our compatriots and attempt to exhaust domestic remedies. This will give Ambazonians the chance to take the individual cases to the African Commission on human and peoples Rights OR Human Rights Committee OR The Committee against torture. Late Albert Mukong, Fon Gorji Dinka, Dr. Akwanga Ebenezer and others have used this method and won. But without the funds to help the detainees, many may die like Ntanen Daniel, Julius Ngu, Tete Philip, and others. Without the funds to support the lawyers, we may never exhaust domestic remedies, never have the chance to challenged evidence obtained through torture and never given our compatriots a fair chance to defend themselves. Your 10 dollars, 10 pounds, 10 euros or more will give them a chance to fight another day for our collective freedom. Click on the link below and make your donation:
