The Facebook Federation of Ambazonia: The Revolution that has crumbled the Cameroons”
On Sunday, 14th July, 2013, popular Nigerian Tele-Evangelist and General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua, made the following statements, while addressing world leaders in a television broadcast via his satellite based Emmanuel.tv.
“…I am seeing a revolution. When I say ‘revolution’ I mean every revolution starts by protests. When it starts by protests, at that protest, the power can stop them. They have the ability to stop them, but when it becomes revolution, no one can stop revolution.
Revolution means everyone is ready to go for it. This is the one we are seeing in other nations all over. Unlike with protests, revolution cannot be stopped because everybody is ready to die.
At the beginning of every revolution, it looks like protest. It might be stopped at the beginning. Eventually, it will become so big that it cannot be stopped. This I see happen… All over the world, it will move from one country to another…
Job creation for the youth and the creation of a new social value system is the solution… You know the reason why the youth turn to thugs? People in power in political offices are not ready to retire. Nobody is ready and the youth – they are jobless. They are supposed to be included in the system, because when the people up there have not retired, there are no offices for youth, new people, new intake…
No matter the education the youth have, they feel they have no place in politics and there is no job to keep them busy. There must be a new orientation and a new social value system…
In politics young people should be considered for important positions such as assistants to elders. While the elders are ministers, the youth should be junior minister. This little example of being junior ministers can change the situation of things. Tell you president. Tell your leaders. Tell your prime ministers all over the world. In every department of government or politics, the youth should be junior assistants to the leaders of such departments…
Revolution is a weapon of change that is coming. This is a visison. I am not preaching or teaching. This is what I saw.”
A look at the manifestations of the above statements in the past 4 years will reveal a series of violent revolutionary storms that have taken place especially across the African continent. From Ivory Coast to Burkina Faso, From the Central African Republic to the Gambia and elsewhere. Today, the storm has moved into Togo and presently in the Cameroons.
The interesting thing about this revolutionary storm is that it has an overdose of youthful and social Media energy. In the Cameroons, the youths of the former UN Trust territory of British Southern Cameroons, gingered by 56 years of marginalization and servitude from the colonial fangs of La Republique du Cameroon are bent on rewriting their own history. They are determined to permanently correct the political wrongs of their political ancestors; they are more than ever ready take their own destinies into their hands and if possible, die in defense of this destiny, which is the total restoration of the independence of Southern Cameroons/Ambazonia.
The SOCIAL MEDIA as a whole seem to be the General Multipurpose Machine Gun for the revolutionary youths of Southern Cameroons, while FACEBOOK in particular is a powerful and dreaded Rocket Launcher. For one year and counting, the social media has dictated the tempo of the revolutionary struggle. In fact it has served and continuous to serve as the platform where revolutionary battles are planned and successfully executed on ground. Facebook has not only serve as a dangerous rocket launcher that has consistently hit La Republique du Cameroun targets, it has equally played the role of a no nonsense revolutionary tribunal where anti revolutionary elements and supposed traitors have been and are being tried and sentenced. If fact, filing and winning an appeal in the Facebook revolutionary tribunal is a dream, except by sheer luck or divine intervention. There is therefore no wonder that the colonial government of the Octogenarian Paul Biya has repeatedly taking antediluvian measures like the repeated shut down of internet, aimed an immobilizing the revolutionary momentum.
In their confusion, colonial propaganda minister, Issa Tchiroma and his surrogate boys and girls have mockingly referred to the Southern Cameroons Independence Restoration movement as a FACEBOOK REPUBLIC. Yes, Mr. Minister, it is this Facebook Republic that has held La Republique hostage for more than a year now; it is this Facebook Republic that has crumbled your economy and you have now become proud beggars from the IMF and World Bank; it is this Facebook Republic that is making you panic and hold multiple weekly press conferences to babble your frustrations to the world; it is this Facebook Republic that has led you to issue your lame 15 international warrants of arrest against it leaders; it is this Facebook Republic that will kill you and your boss Paul Biya, and finally, it is this Facebook Republic that will crumble the Cameroons.
It all started as a mare strike and street protests by youths against marginalization of “Anglophones”, it transformed into a revolution on the form of the state and has finally morphed into a revolution for a new nation, the “Facebook Federation of Ambazonia”. At this level, the revolution is unstoppable and a MUST win for the Ambazonian People. As La Republique continuous to hold strong to her illusionary one and indivisible Cameroon, the indefatigable people of Ambazonia are unapologetically holding firm on their REAL Facebook Republic. There is no middle ground. In fact, any middle ground position at this juncture can only be decided by the collective WILL of the Ambazonian masses.
Long Live the Facebook Federation of Ambazonia.
