Interim Government of Buea
Southern Cameroons Presidency

Notification

As per the last video of Mr. Tassang Wilfred, Programme Coordinator and Leader of the Consortium, the position of the Consortium has changed after several board meetings and consultations and most especially following the situation on the ground and the ultimate objective of citizens of Southern Cameroons. The board took notice that the situation on the ground has changed and due to continued bad faith from the government, the Consortium has decided to changed its goal.

The Consortium also took notice that Chief Justice Ayah Paul Abine who spoke of a 10 states federation has been abducted. Barrister Nkongho Balla and Dr. Fontem Neba who stood for a 2 state federation even at this moment as I write have been abducted. Hundreds of our people who clamoured for federation have also been abducted. So, therefore, whether federation or independence, La Republique is not ready to listen. To La Republique, Federation is a no go area. It is, therefore, imperative to fight for the restoration of independence non-violently- Consortium board notes.

While the Consortium continues to push forward diplomatically as well as using other means for the liberation of our leaders and all those arrested in jails, the board thinks that the struggle must continue. The board is open to dialogue with La Republique only in the presence of UN/AU officials so that a way forward could be mapped through a referendum. As usual, the position of the Consortium that before anything goes on, our leaders must be released has not changed.

The Consortium, therefore, feels that this is what the people on the ground wants. The Consortium is hence for an outright restoration of Southern Cameroons Independence- those who feel otherwise would have their say in the referendum. Hence, the use of the name West Cameroon, Anglophone Cameroon are thus outlawed. The United nations and international body know only about the name British Southern Cameroons and thus we must use such.

I am using my authority as an interim leader of the Consortium only to pass this change of stance, it is my position to direct this information to the general public as the consortium board dawn unto us. That said, my personal opinion has nothing to do and cannot override the aspirations of the people of Southern Cameroons. As long as I am an interim Leader of the Consortium, the goal is one and it is RESTORATION OF SOUTHERN CAMEROONS INDEPENDENCE.

The struggle continues

Mark Bareta.
Interim Leader, Consortium.

  1. If it is true what was leaked out of Etoudi. I mean that Biya and his gang of criminals have no plan B and the death sentences against our leaders are already contemplated then it even more encourages us to go on with that struggle. How shall we continue to live with our francophone brothers in peace if their police torture, rape and kill our people. It is better to divorce. Let us be steadfast. We shall overcome that wicked system.

  2. My people,

I have no objection with the position stated above but we also need legal legitimacy internationally. The consortium is still a plattform with no legal ground to be used as representatives of people of West Cameroons.

If we want to be taken more seriously and negotiate with international organisations. We must correct this situation by winning elections, please think it through, because even if these organisations want to help us, they will need some legal facts of support and expression from west cameroonians.

That is why as before I still stands that we should go to the elections and vote our own representatives who will then join hands with the consortium to represent us legally everywhere for the independence process.

We should not just wave empty words, we have to become practical because whether we like it or not we need strong political power and I disagreed with those saying that we cannot win the elections in our regions by giving all our votes to anglophone parties (CPP, PAP of Ayah Paul & SDF). By doing that, they could gang up to ask for independance or federalisism on a legal ground. We have to try all strategies, what are we loosing by doing so?

Even francophones are saying that CPDM cannot win in our regions due to this crisis and if they do, it will show to the world that Biya is frauding and the guy is avoiding to put fire on the on going crisis: We have to vote…..Please

By doing so, we will at least, even symbollically, send a strong message to CPDM, his elites and traitors in our regions. It will also prove to the world that the population has rejected them all and that is the highest fear of those traitors and so called elites today in our midst: Please let go to elections pools.

Again what are loosing by doing so

GOD is also Wisdom…….. Let the eyes hear me…………….

  3. Dear Jahjahman, actually your right. But now comes my question. Has any of thise anglophone MPs retreat from LRC parliament? I mean except of Hon. Wirba who has to hide. What have this parties you mentioned reached in the last 25 years. Biya cheated Fru Ndi in 1992. And then? When will be next elections? 2018? No my brother. First we need to get rid of that perverted system of false governance. Biya has to go. He will never discuss with us about federalism. Never no chance. After his leave we can start a referendum about the form of the state.

  4. Dear Jahjahman, may be you are one of those who do not know the History of your country. At this point in time, the decision from the consortium to fully embrace total restoration of the Independence of British Southern Cameroons should have been the first decision to make in the first place and not Federalism.
Restoration of the Independence of British Southern Cameroons is perfectly legal. If you do not know, La Republique du Cameroun has no authority what soever to be consulted by British Southern Cameroons because they are a sovereign state just as we are a sovereign state. The only difference is that we are annexed by La Republique. Annexation is condemned by the charter of the United Nations. La Republique had its independence in 1960. British Southern Cameroons through the February 11, 1961plebicite decided to have Independence by Joining La Republique in a Federation only after a consensus on the terms of union in the presence of Britain, UN has been reached by the Houses of Assemblies of the two Cameroons. This never happened. Therefore the choice to gain independence by joining was never consummated. By implication, the whole process of gaining independence was achieved but the process of Joining was not. So by deduction, British Southern Cameroons gained Independence but was not legally joined to La Republique as stipulated by the Law. So, if you have been following my analysis correctly, then in what context and under whose authority or observation shall we go in for elections?

On the other hand, for those of the second school of thought, people like you Jahjahman who still think that “Anglophones” are part of the Cameroon Unitary state because you think we got independence by joining Cameroon through the Fumban conference of 1961 and that of 1972, know that even there, La republique illegally forced British Southern Cameroons into a Federal state. This illegality is evident by the fact that, La Republique for fear that they would be called expansionist by the world, did not register this new state in the UN because they created this state in disregard of the terms set forth for this purpose. To perfectly wash its linens and come clean in the eyes of the International Community, they again in 1984, decided to change the name of the country from The United Republic of Cameroon to La Republique du Cameroon. This is the name French Cameroon assumed at independence. So what does that tell you? It means that they are no longer a part of the United Republic. For when you talk of a United Republic, you are actually saying this is a state made of more that one Republic. So in essence, if we have to go by the second school of thought, then French Cameroon had already seceded from the Union long ago and keeps pretending that “Anglophones” are the once trying to divide the country through secession.

So you now understand the stand of the Consortium when they say it is time to restore the Independence of British Southern Cameroons stolen from us since 1961. Of course this is perfectly legal in International law and even int the eyes of the Law of La Republique du Cameroon. Have a nice day

  5. I think the consortium has let the cat out the bag too fast. It is more complicated to fight for independence than to fight for a two state federation. I think the consortium should have maintained her stand (at least outwardly) and push for a referendum. If it succeeds to get the referendum, then it insist on giving each person a say. Those who want the status quo, those who want independence and those who want federation. Which means three ballot papers. Only then should the consortium come out to campaign for independence. I am afraid that with the present change of stance, the biya regime will say they were right that we had a hidden agenda, whereas it is their reaction that forced us to change.

  6. independence is won and not givenso please all southern cameroonians should be ready to sacrifice.there is no point thinking we can save the union.as rightly said those like jahjahman can vote in a refurandum to stay with la LRC.

  7. When the respective governments of la repulic has fAIled to respect the constitution on various ocasions what is the garantee that they shall do in any future agreement.please we shouldnt foul ourselves our destiny depends on us and on LRC.

  8. The Southern Cameroon Struggle – A Guide To The Way Forward

Every revolution has stages and the strategic move from one stage to another is vital for the success of the revolution. The crew steering this revolution must have tact and mastery in maneuvering everything that matters for the progress and eventual success of the revolution. That said, here below are suggested tips that might fortify this struggle because we must not falter. We have reached the point of no return. Any return would be a return to doom. There is only one way, which is the way forward.
    Top 10 Mistakes To Avoid

    1. Avoid in-house fighting and power struggle: Any movement that starts giving birth to factions is bound to fail. Chase the thief away then decide how to re-organize the house.
    2. Avoid putting traitors in the spotlight: Denounce traitors once and move on. Spending too much time lamenting on what they have done rather puts them on the spotlight. Call them out, then ignore them and move on. The best punishment for a traitor is the success of the struggle. Set up traitor identification mechanisms known only to the hardcore team.
    3. Avoid letting the oppressor lead the game: True revolutionaries lead the game, not the other way round. So don’t plan basing on what the oppressor has done. Stay ahead in the game and let the oppressor plan basing on what the revolutionaries have done. That’s the way to success.
    4. Avoid notifying the oppressor about plans: The oppressor has ten fold the resources we have and that’s why they are oppressors. From a disadvantaged point, revolutionaries surprise and attack the oppressor. Let all plans catch them off guard. Avoid all areas they guard. Confronting them where they stand prepared is a recipe for failure.
    5. Avoid total transparency in strategizing: Mystery sells grandness to the oppressor as well as to fellow revolutionaries. Avoid appearing too miserable, weak, beaten up, empty and naked. These qualities earn pity but not loyalty.
    6. Avoid ignoring resources within reach: All resources are useful in some way. Human resources within reach are the first most valuable resources to be fully utilized. Harness and group human resources available into committees that run specific missions. (The Judiciary Committee, The Defense Committee, The Finance Committee, The Health Committee, The External Relations Committee, The Communications Committee, The Education Committee, The Think Tank Committee, etc.). The setting up and effective running of these committees will bring the trust, loyalty and sacrifice much needed for the revolution in times of difficulties but most importantly, these committees become the bedrock of the movement upon which solid governing structures shall be built once the fight is won.
    7. Avoid setting unlikely reachable goals: When goals are not reached, people get frustrated and lose faith. Easily achievable goals boost the moral and keep people motivated and focused on the final winning goal.
    8. Avoid fighting on one front or shying away from some war fronts: True revolutionaries prioritize but fight on all fronts. Every war is fought on many fronts. The most common fronts are: On the field, in courts, on the media, economically and spiritually. Be ready on all fronts even if some are prioritized. The worst mindset is that which thinks, “We don’t want a war” while already in a war and the war is raging on.
    9. Avoid distractions from the ultimate goal: Festivals, Social occasions, sudden mishaps, and current events are common distractions that drown important revolutions. When they show up, step up revolution propaganda to keep people focused and declare the distraction a nonissue.
    10. Avoid ignoring or downplaying milestones attained: Distract the opponent with revolutionary celebrations of milestones attained. Tout revolutionary achievements, heroes and bury the fallen honorably. Let the opponent focus on the revolution as victory is earned.

Remember the struggle of Southern Cameroonians is a revolution in itself but a catalyst for a bigger revolution spanning across the continent. The revolutionary strategies used are very likely to become templates for many other revolutions. Things will change any oppressor who does not want to change things.

Food for thought to Southern Cameroonians: “In preaching non-violence don’t lose your right to self-defense.”

    1. thank you Ndoh for this wonderful input. I think point 9 is a call for Buea and Bamenda to boycot the so called tour of the African Cup of Nations trophy. I think the leaders of the cosortium should declare ghost towns when the trophy arrives Bamenda and Buea so the biya regime know that we mean business.

  9. My People,

I want my point to be understood for the real war ground perspective not only from the intellectual point of view.

I appreciate all your inputs, you are very intelligent and ressourceful but I still repeat that this struggle is a war.

About war strategies, I agreed with the ten points stated above but I would like to add that in strategy, even a traitor can be useful because in politic like in war, there is a difference between knowing what to do and doing what need to be done. A difference between what you learn in any schools and a real war ground: Nelson Mandela was a lawyer but he used all others means available.

This struggle is about people and not about the consortium and the power of the consortium is made by people and right now, people are becoming confused and are getting tired because the lack something to put their hope on. Remember; when someone is really hungry he or she wants to eat not care about the quality of the meal; West cameroonians want to hurt and send, even symbollically, a strong message to La Republic who rapes, kills and tortures their children….That is the spectacular scenes they are seeing everyday and they want to do something……Think twice about it, you can neglect these elections not La Republic and La Republic knows why.

Let’s talk of strategies again: When a country conquers another one, one of the first thing the winner does, it’s to put his flag on the ground of the conquerred land in order to symbolize his victory (This is not a simple act) and in our regions, CPDM is one of the biggest flag of La Republic.

Have you really taken time to deeply analyze each of La Republic reactions to each of our actions. One example; Did you notice the huge reactions happened in La Republic when they saw our people burning their flag?….. Think again: Laws are made by men and most of those men are politicians, we cannot gain what we want only by using law because law is politic.

When you want freedom from something or someone (Oppressor), you need to get rid off every symbols of the oppressor in your territories. SDF, PAP and CPP can be what they are but they are our bloood…… Think again about it given that you are strategists.

We know the history of our country but at this point, it is more about knowing the ground field and that is where most of you are not getting it because you are analyzing La Republic according to our values and culture instead of knowing and analyzing La Republic based on their own tactics and thinkings; They do not think like us and that is why our forefathers were dupped. It has been on for more than 40 years.

How can you think only fairness with someone is resolute to be unfair? In our culture, a manager is accountable to the people but not in their philosophy. Our society gives high importance to the law but not La Republic. Do you think they do not know the history nor the law ? They do and even better than some of us, Biya is in this game for more than three decades…. Think again.

Why do you think La Republic succeeded in oppressing us for more than 45 years with all that truth, history and laws known to all? Where was the law when they change the name of the country? Let me remind you that some of west cameroonians people are working and approving the doing of La Republic because in politics, you have the game and you have the law,

In fighting someone, it is very crucial to analyze and understand how your opponent thinks in order to take control of all grounds not part of it and politic is one of those.

We must decide exactly what we want; either federalisism or Independance because for each the strategy differs.

GOD is also WISDOM, this is just my contribution……Let the eyes hear me……..

  10. I understand you Jahjahman. We need to remove the symbols of the oppressor. Burning the LRC flag is in my opinion good. I think we should also remove that portrait of Biya and burn it. We shall not attack or burn houses, schools etc.. We need those institutions. To intimidate people is also not good. It is better to convince a person than to frighten him. We shall keep in mind the enemy is the regime of LRC but not its people.
