Cameroon Forces of Law and Order: Atrocities of a Beti-Bulu Militia.
by Pavlov Vellenvevinyo

Beti-Bulu Militia behead, rape, torture maim and loot in Ambazonia.

It is common knowledge that there are rules of engagement for military personnel in every war situation and human life is sacred and must be preserved at all circumstances. However in the war that has ensued from what is popularly called “the Anglophone Crisis”, these rules of engagement have been overlooked and completely ignored by forces loyal to dictator Paul Biya, a 87-years old despot ruling Cameroon for the past 36 years. These forces mostly made up of his tribesmen from the Beti-Bulu clan, carry out horrendous acts of arson, rape, torture and looting against the people of former British Southern Cameroon aka Ambazonia. The well-known case of Sam Soya a cow-meat roaster and vendor in Wum county, who was openly beheaded in full camera-view by the Beti-Bulu militia from French Cameroon still horrifies the people of Wum.

There equally exist a horrific video that hit social media on Wednesday June 13 2018, of some teenage Ambazonian girls in dehumanized and humiliting conditions at the gates of Cameroon Protestant College – Bali. The footage showed the Beti-Bulu militia loyal to dictator Paul Biya, compelling these young girls to wade and swim in muddy and contaminated rain water. It is alleged these teenagers were often used as sex-toys by these rampaging monsters so-called forces of law and order in Cameroon. This kind of torture had earlier been registered in Buea University in October 2016, where female students were pulled out from their hostels and subjected to swim in waste water and sewage from damaged septic tanks.

It should be noted that regularly trained soldiers who are conscious of their republican duties even in situations of civil war, are called upon to exercise professional restraint and consideration in the treatment they give their captives. But it is evident from the several footages that circulate on social media that Cameroon military forces sent to Ambazonia exhibit no such republican military values, and give the impression of being a tribal militia sent to exterminate the Anglophones of British Southern Cameroons.

Ambazonian pro-independence rebel fighters by contrast, are not a conventional army. They generally are community defense groups, trying to protect their families, properties and communities from so-called forces of law and order, sent to wreck havoc in their communities. It is common occurrence that when one such rebel boy successfully kills or wounds a regular soldier, the reprisal is usually devastating for the community. The Beti-Bulu militia will invade that community where one of theirs was killed and wounded, and literally mow down every living thing they come across. This is usually done in the scatter-gun and scorch-earth method reminiscent of the Vietnam Wars, as shown in Hollywood films. A whole community thus suffers heavy loss in human lives and property due to such unrepublican acts from so-called professional forces of law and order.

By way of contrast still, the Ambazonian Defence Forces (ADF) stipulate in their code of conduct that: “No fighter of ADF shall engage in rape, extortion, looting, torture or killing of innocent civilians. Any of these acts shall be punishable. The ADF shall also act as necessary to stop anyone from carrying out these acts during the liberation struggle… ” This reminder to Ambazonian Defence Forces, it is hoped, upholds and enforces some level of sanity in the actions of rebel fighters.
