The management of BaretaNews has caution media houses to desist from copying contents from the online platform without seeking its consent. In a public notice issued Wednesday November 23, 2017 and signed by the Chief Executive officer (CEO), Mark Bareta, the online media appealed to media houses to seek appropriate authorisation before publishing any content from the website.
According to the notice, the CEO indicated that BaretaNews is excited to work with all and sundry. According to him, those wishing to publish articles or use pictures from the website, should first seek the consent of the management.

Subject: Illegal Use Of BaretaNews Contents
It has come to the notice of the Management of BaretaNews that some media houses have been copying the intellectual property of the online platform, without seeking its consent. Worst still is the fact that the said media houses use the contents without even acknowledging the original author of the article(s), nor rights owner, BaretaNews.
BaretaNews for the past months, have been archiving the stolen intellectual contents as second scribed by the media houses. For now, we have taken note of some print organs in Cameroon, as well as online platforms from around the world.
Consequently, the management of BaretaNews makes a STRONG APPEAL to media houses illegally using its contents, to follow the right channel in doing so. BaretaNews in its usual magnanimity of bringing quality news at the fastest paste to its millions of readers, will continue to work with all and sundry in informing the population. However, all contents copied from BaretaNews should be approved by management.
BaretaNews would not hesitate to publish to the world, media houses who illegally copy its contents. We shall also exhaust all other means, including pursuing legal claims.
