North West Fons Union in Chaos, as Antirevolutionary Fons hold Sway to leadership

BaretaNews has been hinted of ongoing venal political positioning, confusion and anti restoration activities within the North West Fons Union (NOWEFU), in the Northern zone of Southern Cameroons/Ambazonia. These activities according to BaretaNews sources are being championed by some CPDM oriented fons within the union, notably Senator Fon Teche Njei II of Ngyen-Muwa, who has been holding sway as President of the NOWEFU for Six years now, among others.

As custodians of traditional institutions in the Northern zone of Ambazonia who are supposed to be playing a pivotal role in the struggle for independence restoration at this juncture, the traditional rulers cum CPDM bigwigs, have been feet dragging and in most cases acting as traitors and betrayals to their determined revolutionary subjects, who have been working tirelessly to see a free Southern Cameroons/Ambazonia. Senator Fon Teche Njei, who is an appointed Senator in La Republique’s Parliament and doubles as the President of NOWEFU is allegedly reported to have connived with the fons of Bafut, Aghem, Babungo, Bamunka, Andek, Etui, Bambui, Bawok, Njottin and Chomba to destabilize the fons union by instituting weird reforms and propagating Yaoundé driven ideologies that would help them completely capture their communities from “secessionists. ”

To effectively carryout this project of manipulating the fons, Fon Teche is alleged to have received the sum of Fifteen Million Francs CFA from LRC government, to reorganize NOWEFU and create the post of; President of the General Assembly of NOWEFU. This position, according to our source would becomes more powerful than that of the President of NOWEFU, which has been zoned to Donga-mantung fons in the coming elections. Fon Teche’s plan is to install himself as the President of the General Assembly and rule for a renewable mandate, while the President of NOWEFU will lead for three years non renewable.

It is important to state that the same Fon Teche Njei II, has created an illegal village in Upstation Bamenda, called “Aletin”(quarter), where he imposed a citizen of LRC (West Region) as Fon, by name; Maitre Nchinda. It is also reported that the same Fon Teche, has sold the fons’ Secretariat in Nkwen, Bamenda, now owned by an educational establishment.

Amidst the present revolutionary struggle in Ambazonia, the political fon Senator Teche, is accused of taking the sum of 43million from the government of LRC, to persuade the fons to key into Yaoundé’s plans against the struggle. This money has however put him at loggerheads with most fons, as he cannot present a credible account of it has been used.

The members of NOWEFU are to meet on the 24th November 2017 at 9am for departure to Nkambe for the implementation of the diabolical plan to destabilize the union. BaretaNews therefore challenges the Fons of Donga-Mantung, to rise up and resist this evil agenda to thwart their chance of leadership, especially when such a plan is aimed at installing anti independence restoration agents that will be working for LRC. Donga-Mantung fons must not allow a powerless NOWEFU Presidency to be handed over to them. If it is their time to lead the union and make positive change, then, they must resist to ensure that the right thing is done.

The desecration of traditional institutions in Southern Cameroons by LRC is the more reason why the Constitution of a free Ambazonia must keep our traditional rulers out of political games, especially politicking with politicians of the ruling party. The Southern Cameroons House of Chiefs was an institution that preserved and protected the cultural heritages of Southern Cameroons. In fact, they were political moderators and true custodians of traditional institutions.

However, LRC colonial system that denigrated traditional authorities and their institutions have rendered them useless before their subjects and have turned some traditional authorities into political thugs and emissaries. This must not be tolerated in the Federal Republic of Ambazonia. The traditional authorities and institutions must be given their due places in a free Ambazonian society.

  1. 15 million and 43 million FCFA is what more than 20 Fons are losing their minds over and betraying their people. God help us.

  2. It will appear that some of these traditional rulers are playing the Ostrich game of burying their heads in the sand. Ahidjo and Biya played these same games and deluded themselves that the people have been manipulated into becoming zombies. Today Biya is harvesting the consequences of taking Ambazonians for granted for over 56 years.
These traditional rulers will soon realize that their “biting and blowing” of the people to satisfy the Beti criminals has grave consequences. Our people have already said that Enough of these cpdm gangsters and their politics in Ambaland.

  3. Hi Bareta,
We all know that the Fons are now employees of LRC and not leaders of the people anymore. We simply have to organise the people especially the youths whose future are being hijacked by the so call leaders for their benefits to rise up and storm such meetings with powerful messages.
We should equally ask the IG to send a strong worded message to the Fons and let them know our future as a state does not depend on their affiliations with the cpdm, their salaries and benefits from la republic.
WE HAVE COME TOO FAR TO BE LET DOWN BY HUNGRY FONS WITH NO VISION OF A BETTER SOCIETY FOR ALL. WE WILL RESIST EVERYONE EVEN THE FONS. RUBBISH

  4. Can we not just forbid that CPDM. That party is useless and just abused by the opressor to oppose the will for freedom of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia.
