President of African Bar Association Alerts International Community on Genocide in Ambazonia

Hannibal Uwaifo, President of the African Bar Association (ABA), has used the platform of the International Criminal Bar annual Conference in Berlin Germany, to call for the immediate release of Ambazonian leaders and three members of the African Bar Association, illegally abducted and detained by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The legal mind also used the opportunity to call for international intervention in Ambazonia, to halt the genocide currently being perpetuated by the colonial regime of La Republique du Cameroun (LRC). The ABA, had on the early days of the illegal abduction of the interim leadership of Ambazonia by the Buhari administration, issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the Nigerian authorities to release the kidnapped leaders.

Speculative information allegedly from the Nigerian police claims President Sissiku Ayuk-Tabe and his collaborators were “arrested” by the State Security Services (SSS), for operating a military training camp in Nigeria, to attack a friendly state of LRC. The Nigerian government has however maintain a suspicious silence on the matter since then, despite heavy protests by Ambalanders at Nigerian Embassies in key cities across the World.

The Nigerian authorities have also not allowed the lawyers of the hostage victims to have access to them, not to talk of even charging to a Nigerian court, as prescribed by local laws and the Nigerian Constitution. Ambazonians therefore begin to wonder if the supposedly progressive Buhari regime is actually different from the lawless and military-like dictatorial Yaoundé regime of the octogenarian, Paul Biya.

The ABA President, Hannibal Uwaifo, had described the Gestapo style arrests of the leaders as unlawful and a violation of human rights. He noted that, even in the presence of an extradition treaty between the colonial state of LRC and Nigeria, it will be a violation of international and local Nigerian laws for Nigeria to returned any of the kidnapped leaders to CameroUn.

There has been a scare news from one of the colonial agents France 24, claiming that the interim President of Ambazonia, Sissiku Ayuk-Tabe and his collaborators were extradited to LRC on Friday morning. This news has send shock waves and confusion among some Ambalanders at home and abroad. While BaretaNews still believes that nothing in terms of diplomatic mafia is impossible when France+ money are concern, we however call on Ambazonians to threat the said information as one of those Isa Tchiroma propaganda lies, until an official statement comes from the interim government or the leaders are brought before the cameras in Yaoundé to the view of all.

Like one Ambazonian comrade put it this morning, the case of the Southern Cameroons independence crisis at this juncture is not only that of the interests of France and LRC. It is also the interest of every member of the General Assembly of the UN and the AU. We don’t want to believe that all these nations, including international legal and diplomatic institutions, have suddenly grant France, LRC and Nigeria the full right to freely act in violation of international legally binding conventions and treaties. That it is their right to kidnap leaders (some of who are naturalized citizens and asylees in their countries) of a self determination movement, and move them to their home country over night. That would be the beginning of global chaos and anarchy.
