MANCHO BBC-THE LAST MAN STANDING

Over history, those who have made the difference aren’’t usually the powerful, the rich or the most intelligent. It is those who have the courage to stand up when everyone else is afraid and remains seated, to rise up against injustice, intolerance, tyranny and the oppression of the poor. Real men have never followed the crowd but crowds have followed them. Real men stand erect when everyone else is sitting down. Real men say have the courage to say NO when everyone else is afraid to say so. We can mention the likes of;
 ROSA PARKS in Black Civil Disobedience
 NELSON MANDELA against the APARTHEID Regime
 LENIN in the communist Revolution
 CHE GUEVARA in Latin America
 FIDEL CASTRO in Latin America
 MALCOLM X in the USA
 MARTIN LUTHER KING in the USA
 MOTHER THERESA of CALCUTTAA
 PATRICE LUMUMBA of ZAIRE
 THOMAS SANKARA of BURKINA FASO
and the list goes on.

At a time when Bamenda inhabitants could go for many months without potable water and the select bourgeoisie like NDUMU VINCENT, JOHN B NDEH, JOHN FRU NDI and the so called political elite of the SANTA MAFIA stayed in the comfort of their cozy palaces and savored seasoned wine from the taps of ETOUDI with their concubines, it took the courage of MANCHO to rise against such injustice. Taxpayers in the 21st century going for many weeks without their taps flowing in a major town like Bamenda yet these elite gave a deaf ear and a blind eye to the cries of the wretched masses.

At a time when the age old tar on the Bamenda streets had been completely eroded by torrents and movement within the town became a problem, it took the courage of MANCHO to rise up against such injustice. The so called elite galloped their way easily on such roads with their huge 4*4 jeeps that were procured by stolen tax payers’ funds. The BAMENDA-BABADJOU road had deteriorated to alarming proportions over the years in full view of the so called political elite who plied that road day and night to attend nocturnal masses in ETOUDI but no one cared. Even when FRU NDI walked up to BABADJOU it was on errand by BIYA to quell the anger of the Bamenda man who saw no reason for the continuous payment of the toll gate when the area around that toll gate was worse off than any other part of that road.

Mancho Bibiwy and Agbor Balla taken to court in Yaounde

The government stuffed its ears with stolen bank notes away from the cries of the Bamenda man. After all, the Bamenda man is not an OPPOSITION but an OPPOSANT so why develop his roads. (There is a difference between OPPOSITTION and OPPOSANT. The former refers to those who wine and dine with the Yaoundé regime while the latter refers to those who are enemies to the regime because they want to set the records straight). Why do we pay taxes? So as to buy civilization, by providing the government with the necessary resources that ensure our development; schools, hospitals, security, road infrastructure, general welfare and others things. If these demands are not met why should we continue to pay taxes? In a country that is mired with massive corruption, nepotism, clientelism and the siphoning of State funds, MANCHO decided to make a difference.

MANCHO rose against the injustice that was perpetrated on the BAMENDA man.
The response was unprecedented, the turnout was unanticipated. The clock stopped ticking and time and space came to connivance as Bamenda rose like one person and spoke with one voice and the people in power trembled with fear and lost all sleep. MANCHO followed all the legal steps available by marching his army to the GOVERNMENT DELEGATE who forwarded him to the GOVERNOR for an answer to his cry, at the GOVERNOR’s, MANCHO was again referred to BAMENDA CITY COUNCIL. The ping pong game caused MANCHO to take his case to the streets, the public court and the populations’ response can determine the verdict of this case.

Never in history has Bamenda witnessed such a massive mobilization, not even in the 1990s when the SDF was lunched nor did it happen in the 2008 National HUNGER STRIKE. The masses rose in unwelcoming proportions to denounce such open and outstanding injustice the people of Bamenda had suffered over the years. I started hearing about the Ring Road as a kid, 45 years today as a grown man with many kids, my kids are hearing the same song I heard when I was their age. At what age will I realize my dreams and live a decent life for my remaining days here on earth?

MANCHO was bold enough to denounce all these vices and today, MANCHO is accused to terrorism for asking for what rightfully belongs to him as an honest and tax-paying citizen who is living in his own country. The same things MANCHO asked for are the same things the government used to accuse him of terrorism and the same government is trying to implement those demands with cosmetic solutions like the lousy work on the SANTA road as seen on Facebook and some action in JAKIRI in a bid to appease the masses. Yet MANCHO is still in detention, and he is likely to face the DEATH SENTENCE.

MANCHO stood tall when no one else could stand up
MANCHO screamed loudest when everyone else was too afraid to talk and decided to remain silent
MANCHO made history as he that stood against injustice, discrimination and the oppression of the poor.
One man can make a change because change begins from within

  1. Ambazonian of this generation should be so proud of themselves. I can only imaging what not just our nation but the whole world will be talking about us in the next hundred years to come.

We have forever engraved our name, faces, voices, image in the timeline of history in such a way that is unique, remarkable and powerful.

Hails and Hurrahs to our Lions and Lioness, we raise never to fall.

  2. Mancho will never see the death penalty if does, the consequences, I will say here, suffice to say it will be a grave mistake for biya and his dogs.We most continue to push his case in the limelight and contribute to the release of all freedom fighters and INDEPENDENCE.

  3. BBC has inspired the soul that wrote this piece. It was well written and well thought out. Thank you, Bibixy. You stand tall in the face of tremendous odds.

  4. Mancho Bibixy I must thank you so much. You gave us Southern Cameroonians our dignity back. Something many of our MPs , senators and politicians failed to do so.

  5. The actions of Mancho Bibixy is to remind us that we must stand tall in the face of injustice for if we sit and fold our hands, we have non other to blame but ourselves. If not, how do we explain that Africa is bless with so much riches yet a handful of ignoramus called intellectuals like Biya and his beti/ewondo clansmen are willing to collaborate with the french leeches and the swiss chameleons to keep us in a state of perpetual poverty and misery.
For a very long time, we were told to be patient with the French stooges in Yaoundé and see what it has done to some of us. It has only breed obfuscators like: Achidi Achu, Musonge, Atanga Nji, Patrick Ekema, Dr. Munzu etc , etc who are willing to do the biding of the etoudi crime syndicate at the expense of the aspirations of the people of Southern Cameroon.

  6. war betides paul biya and his entire corrupt, colonial regime if Mancho is illegally sentenced to death for his Human right freedom, something this outdated, old regime signed in accordance with the International Law, this government has been for 56 years with hidden human right abuses, torture, false imprisonment, abuse, torture, mistreatment of their citizens using bribery, liars, corruption, arrogance,in this era SCs have been reborn, technology has exposed their evil, weak, colonial puppet regime, they can boast their weak, illiterate, brutal, bribe taking, rapist, thieving, army and police, they must withdraw from our territories by force, they are cowards who beat young girls & boys, roam the streets with guns for power, use life arms to disperse unarmed civilians, their time is up, the struggle must intensify
