The United States alongside its allies across Europe, have coordinated a response in the wake of the nerve agent attack in Salisbury on March 4. US President Trump ordered 60 Russian diplomats to the country.

Germany, France, Canada, Ukraine and a host of other European countries have expelled Russian envoys. Moves described as ”provocative gesture” by Moscow which has vowed to retaliate according.

Russia has repeatedly denied any involvement in the attack on Sergei Skripal,66 and his daughter, Yulia,33, in Salisbury. England. The two have remained in a critical condition though stable at the hospital.

Last week, EU leaders agreed it was ”highly likely” Russia was behind the nerve-agent attack.

Prime Minister Theresa May have commended the show of solidarity, saying it sent a strong message. In a statement issued by Number 10 Downing Street, ”We welcome today’s actions by our allies, which clearly demonstrate that we all stand shoulder to shoulder in sending the strongest signal to Russia that it cannot continue to flout international law”.

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson wrote in a tweet that the ”extraordinary international response by our allies stands in history as the largest collective expulsion of Russian intelligence officers ever”.

The US move is the biggest against Russia since the Cold War era and hostilities with the former USSR.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry said the moves show a continuation of a ”confrontational path”. It went further to say ”this unfriendly act by this group of countries will not go without notice and we will react to it”.

On Monday, the following countries announced they were in solidarity with the UK, expelling Russian diplomats;

-United States: 60

-EU Countries: France 4; Germany 4; Poland 4; Czech Republic 3; Lithuania 3; Denmark 2; Netherlands 2, Italy 2, Estonia 1, Croatia 1, Finland 1, Latvia 1, Romania 1.

-Ukraine 13

-Canada 4

  1. @Neba Benson, you should quote news source, this looks like copy paste from other news outlets, yet you want to claim as if you covered the news yourself. This ambazonia struggle has employed some of you at Baretanews with no knowledge of what you do, you still believe on ‘ i hear say’. You should only specialise reporting on your ‘political parties (defence groups) in ambazonia.

Do you think changing word order is not plagiarism?

  2. Childish, unprofessional, and absolutely makes no sense …

Even crybabies will not do things like this.

This only make Europe, America, … looks weak.

There is no way on earth, heaven or hell the the universe can pressure Russia, no way.

I love America but this witch hunt they have embarked on is only going to make Russia
    stronger.

    This is so childish.

  3. The hypocrisy and the outright injustice that Southern Cameroons, otherwise known as Ambozonian is experiencing is just Alarming. Why is the world sitting quiet about issues that concern Africa but will react instantly if that same issue affected a European country or the Americas? Are people who live in Africa still considered as sub human beings? The current issues affected Southern Cameroons and how the world has reacted to these issues, is a demonstration that the world does not care about the people in this part of the world. Since 2016 the people of Southern Cameroons have been killed like dogs and the world has deliberately remained silent about the genocide that is currently taking place in Southern Cameroon with entire villages being burnt and some other villages totally deserted. The indiscriminate killing of civilians and the destruction of their property, the thousands who sleep in the open air in the bushes with children, and the thousands who are now making the trek to Nigerian as refugees is very concerning. The world need to sit up and get tyrants like Biya to justice and send a message that the world will not sit and watch one man kill and turn the gun on his own citizens and murder them like animals in the slaughter house with helicopter gunships.
If we look at how the European Union and the United States have reacted to the poisoning of the former Russian spy agent and his daughter in England. This shows a sign of strength and unity that these countries stand together and will not watch this happen again. I think this is a strong message that has been sent to Moscow and the African Union needs to stick together and equally send a strong message to Yaounde that this cannot continue in front of their own very eyes. Biya has always shown total disrespect for the African Union and its time this disrespect has to stop. Can someone tell me how many meetings in the African Union has Biya attended. In any case this just continues to show my disdain for the African Union and the United nations for letting MR. Biya continue to murder his own people with impunity and recently congratulating his army openly for killing and murdering civilians and nobody in the world or nation has condemned Biya for this. Civilians have been beheaded and the world has remained silent about this. In 2014, when James Foley was beheaded by Isis the entire world stood together. But when Sam Soyer was tortured and beheaded by the terrorist and gangster regime of MR. Paul Biya it was a non-event. It is high times the world becomes fair and treat all God`s creation equal.

    1. When Africans die in their thousands, no one reacts because they ought to die.
Bush and Tony Blaire said Irak has weapons of mass destruction – how many were killed and how many continue to die today?

what has been the world response? it is normal.

The southern Cameroonians/Abamzonians are dying from french bullets and intelligence, what is the response of the world? it is normal. The world is overpopulated so Arabs and Africans life mean nothing.

Russia should retaliate immediately. Send their diplomats out as well. Let the cold war continue.

We can’t keep quiet in front of world dictatorship on poor people who call themselves allies.

It is more so very foolish to react on assumptions without proof of facts. What if they did it themselves just to blame it on Russia? The person is a Russian and living in Britain so the British should be held accountable.
