Revival of Colonial Regime-Sponsored Militia Activities Raises Alarming Concerns

By Mbah Godlove.

For the past seven years, amidst the ongoing struggle for freedom, the existence of French Cameroun-sponsored militias aimed at undermining the credibility of Ambazonia (restoration) fighters may have seemed unreal to many. However, recent events have now confirmed their presence.

In a recent development this week, restoration forces operating in Widikum Local Government Area apprehended four armed individuals posing as fighters, who had been terrorizing the local population. The ringleader of this group was reportedly identified as the brother of a prominent affiliate of the colonial regime.

Sources indicate that these four individuals, known for their notorious activities, were en route from Widikum to town to provide a report of their unlawful and atrocious actions against civilians when they were captured by the freedom fighters. During the subsequent interrogation, Konde Zidan, who is the brother of Konde Titus, a promoter of “My Country People,” a colonial propaganda platform used to suppress the revolution, attempted to escape but was ultimately neutralized.

The rest of the group’s members are currently evading capture and remain at large, continuing to terrorize the population under the guise of freedom fighters. It has been reported that over one million colonial CFA francs were recovered from the imposters.

These recent events have shed light on the presence of militia groups associated with Paul Atanga Nji, with a mission to sabotage the ongoing struggle for freedom.
