Ambazonia: Southern Cameroons was the southern part of the British Mandate territory of Cameroons in West Africa. Since then till now, many Southern Cameroons activists have been arrested and molested, others are still in detention while some are in for self-exile.
On July 17, 2016, some 15 Southern Cameroonians were arrested for having a peaceful meeting Some of them are known to be activists of the Southern Cameroons National Council, SCNC. On August 30th, 2016, Hundreds of Southern Cameroonians stormed the Buea Court of First Instance and protested the continuous detention and refusal to grant bail to 15 activists arrested on July 19th. The presiding Judge went on to grant them bail and adjourned the case to 5th September 2016. Despite being free, Mr. Njousi Abang is not defeated. His spirit is up and strong. In a defiance move, he wrote on Facebook this morning. Hear him
“…Thank you, my dear friends and comrades, for the support you gave us during our trials and horrific experiences in jail for Ambazonia aka Southern Cameroons. We stand together in the fight for liberty in our country. Until we win, we will not surrender. There is no other tribute we can pay to Patriarch Endeley, Hon Ngom Jua, and co than fighting to ensure that their dreams come true and our people are spared the humiliation of being a stateless people waiting for the slave master to dish out meal tickets for our survival….”
He continues ” In my pain, I feel a deeper sense of loss of values, resources and a heritage that could have made us a better people and a better nation. In all my experiences in jail, I felt a sense of guilt for all the woes that saints out here unleash on harmless citizens who are thrown into jail. In my sufferings, I have resolved to be a better human being for the salvation of more people, souls and above all my nation, Ambazonia. No other mill would have made me see reality from this mirror. I have been processed and made into a great hater of injustices of all kinds. Ambazonia there4 must be free…” Abang concluded
BaretaNews salutes the efforts and defiance of Mr. Abang and all peoples of Southern Cameroons who believe in the right to self-determination. The right to self-determination is a human right and people of Southern Cameroons can also exercise such rights should the decide. BaretaNews is aware history, law and legality are on the side of Southern Cameroons.
God is still saying something.
