Reports from the interim leaders of the Consortium and other sources from West Cameroon confirms that operation ghost towns which was declared as a non-violent civil disobedience strategy were very effective across all villages, towns, and cities in West Cameroon. This week’s ghost towns which started on Monday 23rd ended on Tuesday 24th January with 200 percent success rate.

It should be noted that the leadership of the Anglophone Civil Society Consortium had been transferred on January 17th to the diaspora following the ban of its activities by the government of Paul Biya. The illegal arrest of the Consortium’s leaders Barrister Agbor Balla and Dr. Fontem Neba, as well as the internet shutdown in West Cameroon made the ghost towns even more successful.

The ghost town strategy is working effectively for the good of West Cameroonians and this shows how determined the people of West Cameroon are prepared to claim back their statehood. The Ghost town strategy is used as a means to compel the regime to release all West Cameroonians (Southern Cameroonians) arrested and also to create an atmosphere for effective dialogue that will meet the demands of the people.

Also, it should be reiterated that there have been complete internet blackouts across West Cameroon (Southern Cameroons) by the government as a measure to restrict social media activities. That not withstanding information continue to circulate. Sources and reporters across West Cameroon confirm that it is a big success. From North West to South West Regions, from Fako to Meme, Manyu to Kupe-Muanenguba, Lebialem to Bamenda, Makon to kumbo, Bali to Batibo, etc, schools, offices, businesses and other commercial activities remain closed.

The interim leaders of the Consortium will begin a campaign today on 11th February boycotts. The struggle is moving as planned and shows that the people of West Cameroon are determined to win.

Despite fruitless attempts by some elites to sabotage the struggle, convincing parents and teachers to resume school, no one seems to heed their call. The University of Buea teachers recently refused to start classes unless those arrested are released as well as government showing positive attitudes towards constructive dialogue. These events reveal that West Cameroonians are zealous towards their desire for a positive change.

  1. i must applaud all those pushing for change in southern cameroon or cameroon as a whole, i will however suggest the effort of change is pushed one level up, i.e focus also on the francophones community because the seem to be in some kind of a stupor, indifferent, lethargic or some sort of a trance, someone or something needs to wake them up. how long will they remain in the state of unconsciousness. Everything that the anglophones are fighting for, if successful will benefit everyone in cameroon. Someone should start flooding their social media with a wakeup call. let us see if mr biyal will also cut off the internet in those regions. It is high time the francophones join in the fight.

  2. Pls, d consortium should also start campaigns to boycott d Cameroon mountain race in buea. Let every activity in these two regions be boycotted.

    1. besong, those classes you saw are government framed up reports aimed at deviating the BSC efforts to change.
Remember, that has always been their tool to divide and rule.
Biya thinks by disolving the consortium thjat represents the entire English Cameroon and creating separate teachers unions for the SW and the NW to further divide us will deter us from our struggle.
Thos ewere not classes in the English Cameroon. You need to see the photos they display on the cover page of Cameroon Tribune and the captions.
A good IT specialist will quickly discover that it was an infographic designed image to deceive and downplay the masses.
Any school that got opened under military pressure was either a French School in the English Zone
