Common Law Lawyers, at a cross section meeting last year

Pursuant to Government reluctance to heed to the Cameroon Common Law Lawyers demands and in line with the South West Attorney General summons and intimidation, the Common Law Lawyers have henceforth declared an INDEFINITE STRIKE ACTION. Their communique reads

We hereby report to members of our constituent Associations that we have listened carefully to their views regarding the strike action so far and in particular its life span;

While assuring you of our unshakable and productive solidarity as change agents, we once more thankfully congratulate members of our four Associations ( FAKLA, MALA, MELA & NOWELA) for their sustained confidence and support of our leadership in the steering of the strike across the entire Common Law jurisdictions of the North West and South West Regions;

We inform members that our discussion with other civil society organizations are already bearing fruits for example SYNES Buea has already issued a statement of solidarity and encouragement over our position and the spicing with the strike action;

We equally informs members that in strict compliance with our commitment to solidarity and performance accountability, we re-empowered ourselves in a brief meeting before our colleagues who had been invited by the Attorney General for the South West Court of Appeal, to a meeting today at 11:00am, and presented a gentlemanly response as an unshakable team, insisting on a response to our request in the Communique of October 6, 2016 addressed to the President of the Republic of Cameroon;

Pursuant to the foregoing report and after due consultation informed by the Common resolve reaching us from our constituent Associations ( FAKLA, MALA, MELA, & NOWELA), we have in discharge of our collective responsibilities towards Common Law Lawyers and the public within Common Law Jurisdiction resolved as follows:

THAT THE STRIKE ACTION SHALL CONTINUE INDEFINITELY SUBJECT ONLY TO A MAJORITY DECISION AT A JOINT CONFERENCE OF THE EXCOs OF OUR CONSTITUENT ASSOCIATIONS ON A DATE TO BE AGREED AND ANNOUNCED IN DUE COURSE.

DONE AT BUEA THIS 20th DAY OF OCTOBER 2016
