In his state-of-the-nation address, President Vladimir Putin unveiled a series of nuclear weapons, saying they could reach almost any point around the world, evading even US missile shields.

Speaking prior to an election scheduled for March 18, with opinion polls suggesting he would win. Putin said an attack on any of Russia’s allies would be considered as an attack on Russia itself and will prompt a retaliation.

Whether he has a particular ally such as Syria in mind, was unclear but his remarks appeared as a warning to Washington to not use battlefield nuclear weapons.

Having used militaristic language to garner support quite often, touting the idea that Russia is under siege by Western nations. The annexation of Crimea from Ukraine back in 2014 boosted his approval ratings and has used his military intervention in the Syrian war as Moscow’s moment to be proud of.

His rhetoric was backed by video clips showing some of the new missiles he was talking about, projected on large screens at the conference hall in central Moscow while addressing Russia’s political elite. ”They have not succeeded in holding Russia back, now they need to take account of new reality and understand that everything I have said today is not a bluff” said Putin, referring to the West.

The new weapons Putin said were already developed or being improved; an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of attacking via the North and South poles and bypass defense systems.

President Putin spoke of a miniature nuclear-powered engine which could be fitted to low-flying and highly-maneuvered cruise missiles, enhancing them with an unlimited range. The new technology meant Russia was capable of a new type of weapon- nuclear missiles to be powered by nuclear energy and not conventional fuel. ”Nothing like it in the world exist, at some point, it will probably appear but that time our guys will have devised something else” brags Putin.

Among the list of other new super weapons are underwater drones, a supersonic and laser weapon. The Russian leader has used his speech in ordering officials to cut the number of Russians living in poverty by half, boosting social and infrastructural spending in a pre-election pitch to Russian voters.

  1. A whole new, very complex, sophisticated and dangerous reality is unfolding it self in front of our eyes.

    There is no turning back.

Russia has always been the turning point, this is been proven again.

Artificial entity be it in software from or software and hardware with intelligence, reasoning, thinking beyond anything human can imagine, things of non human nature that thinks more that man.

And again, Africans are at sleep. We missed the industrial revolution, missed the technological revolution, missed … and are missing the artificial intelligence revolution again.

All We Africans wants to do is consume, work for others and wait for some mystical creature to come and save Us.
Not a single African nation with it own independent research facilities where we Africans can try and error our selves into perfection. At best if lucky, other races might allow us to participate in developed their society while Africa server as the dumping pit for all kind of products We Africans don’t know how to create and produce.

Other children looks at the race and see greatness, our children looks at us and I’m asking myself what they think about our race.

Ancient Africans, those we come form were great, powerful and mighty. They did not ask the opinion of anybody before they did whatever they wanted to do. They, all by themselves took care of business.
Today we can not build a road without asking the white man for money.

Only the creator know how this race is going to survive if at all it dose.

    1. You seem to speak my mind.
We have been rendered poor, divided to be easily manipulated and exploited.
Apart from Lybia, no African country could be proud of standing up for its people without being dictated upon. Now Lybia is gone and the whole continent is plunged into darkness of dependence and exploitation of its resources with the help of corrupt non visionary leadership.
South Africa has been brought to its knees by removing its nuclear capabilities coupled with its multiple racial, historic problems which has been aggravated by the corrupt leadership of Zuma.

Africa needs visionary young leaders like kagame to come up but more important we need strong institutions to foster the technological advancement of Africa and curb the wanton exploitation of its resources by predator countries like France, China, America etc.

The ball can start rolling when the AU becomes a real organisation of visionary technocrats not a trade union of dictators who are all financed and controlled by the West.

If nuclear energy was so dangerous why are the west constantly developing it and fooling others not to have it?
When you have nuclear energy, you are respected.
