Donald Trump is the US Republican Nominee. He is pitted against Hillary Clinton, nominee for the Democratic Party. Donald is known for making controversial comments. He is one of the most widely watched current politicians across the world. His statements are often met with scorn and disbelief across all political sides. However, he has succeeded to knock out career politicians from the Republican primaries to secure the US Republican Presidential nomination.

On Wednesday, 15th June 2016 during a party rally in Atlanta, Georgia, Trump said “Belgium is a beautiful city,” Numerous international and local media picked up the story to mock Trump for showing a grave lack of geographical knowledge. Hillary Clinton made a short video as well mocking Trump’s knowledge of the world’s geography. It seems the difference between Belgium and Brussels is still unclear for Donald Trump.

BaretaNews thinks that two things could have been possible on the gaff made by Donald Trump. It was either Trump wanted to call Brussels and then said Belgium or he was mocking the size of Belgium as compared to the US. Recalled that most if not all states in the US has a mass size far greater than Belgium. One can never tell if Trump actually meant it by really showing the lack of knowledge in these things.

However, tt is not the first time Trump has difficulty with the difference between Belgium and its capital. After the terror attacks of 22 March, Trump told Matt Lauer of NBC’s Today, “Belgium is not the Belgium that you and I knew, Matt, from 20 years ago, which was one of the most beautiful cities and one of the safest cities in the world. Belgium is a horror show right now.”

Trump previously referred to Brussels as “a hellhole” during a March interview with Fox News.

God is still saying something.
