Traffic has resumed on the strategic R0606 route after the Public Works Minister’s commission rebuilt the section.
Traffic has officially resumed on the reconstructed section of the R0606 regional road at the Dschang Cliff, following the completion of rehabilitation works on the strategic route.
The section was officially commissioned on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in Foréké-Dschang during a ceremony presided over by Public Works Minister Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi.
The event brought together administrative and regional authorities, traditional and community leaders, and residents who turned out to witness the road’s reopening.
Among the dignitaries present were Jean Nkuete, Vice-Prime Minister and Secretary General of the CPDM Central Committee; Minister Delegate Jean De Dieu Momo, the Governor of the West Region; and other senior administrative officials.
The reopening restores an important road link serving communities in the Menoua Division and is expected to ease transportation, improve the movement of people and goods, and support economic activity in the area.
The rehabilitation of the Dschang Cliff section is also seen as an important step towards improving road safety and restoring reliable traffic along the R0606 route.
