President of Cameroun

Today makes exactly 34 years since Mr. Biya took over office as President of the Republic of Cameroon. A lot of articles have been written about the stewardship of Paul Biya. However, an honest presentation of Mr. Biya 34 years rule at the helm of the state will only conclude that Mr. Biya has failed Cameroonians. No matter which angle one decides to use, Mr. Biya has failed the nation.

The only thing one could take from Paul Biya albeit mockingly is that Mr. President visits the Diaspora frequently and during this moment lavishes state money. He is, in fact, the Diaspora President. Biya most often governs out of Cameroon. He regularly spends extended periods of time in Switzerland at the HOTEL InterContinental Geneva where the former director Herbert Schott reportedly said he comes to work without being disturbed. These extended stays away from Cameroon – while sometimes as short as two weeks – are sometimes as long as three months and are almost always referred to as “short stays” in the state-owned press and other media. He spends lavishly millions of taxpayers’ money along with the heavy delegation whenever he leaves.

Biya on Wednesday 24th August 2016 had left for Switzerland. His wife had been out of the Country for almost three months before Biya left on state expenditure. Biya only came home on June 25 spending nearly a month out of the presidential palace.

The recent Eseka incident happened when Biya was out of the Country. After he left for the United Nations General Assembly in September 2016, Biya only came back into the country in October 23rd after he was forced to cut his stay abroad as a result of the Eseka train accident which claims more than 150 lives and 600 more wounded. Biya would go on to sign a decree from abroad declaring October 24th national mourning day. His absence received continues backlashed from Cameroonians on social media.

It is fair to say that Biya rules Cameroon from the Diaspora. He spends approximately 292 days out of the 365/ 366 days in a year out of Cameroon. No president in the entire world is airborne like Biya. No President travels out of his country and stays long out like Biya. it’s a sad story. There is no law in Cameroon that can tame this man to stay home longer. The country is boring him. The signs are all there. It sickens some Cameroonians always when they hear others say the Diasporans are trying to destabilize the government. Cameroon is ruled by proxy. it takes a jerk dead, a phony, cold like ice citizen to think that Biya is patriotic. His wife has recently copied his attitude and has been missing for months. A good and patriotic military would have reacted and free the state. Everyone is busy looting and wishing he stays there longer. But we shall put an end to it. the days are numbered

It is fair to include that Biya’s so-called short visits to Europe and spending tax payers money since the 1980s bolster the argument that he is a Diaspora president. Mr. President and his officials are people with a colonial mentality. Truly, he is a lucky president and 34 years in power is more than enough. He should take a rest in order to avoid embarrassment. Again, we must be very careful because his officials have his mentality and we may replace him with another Diaspora president and the game will continue.

Conclusively, one can say that Biya is unfit and unpatriotic. He is a commander in chief who has not visited the soldiers he sent to war even for once. He has never attended the funeral of falling soldiers. What about the latest Eseka victims whom he treated like pigs, no compassion to visit the site or the victims at the hospital. In 34 years he has never addressed the nation in English during the end of the year or National day speech to honour the bilingual status of the nation. His current intention is to suffer the upcoming regime with a sea of debt to pay. This guy is unfit and unpatriotic. Workers at the intercontinental Hotel in Gevena have seen Biya more than any regional Governor including the citizens of the said region- Timah Rene, the political scientist wrote to BaretaNews.

He is an absentee landlord. BaretaNews call on him to resign.

God is still saying something.
