Southern Cameroons Ambazonia refugees in neighbouring Nigeria have been engaged in workshops to help them develop local skills that could empower them. It should be noted that more than 40,000 Southern Cameroons refugees are now in Nigeria in more than three different states as a result of the barbarism of La Republique Du Cameroun.
BaretaNews learned that more than 27 refugees were drilled on Entrepreneurship and Business Development skills in a workshop that took place at the Ikom Local Government Multipurpose Conference Hall, Wednesday March 7, 2018, majority of whom were women.
The workshop aimed at providing start-up capital after training. The organisers posit that this move will help and sustain the Ambazonian refugees to be more productive. Presently, Southern Cameroonians across the world have been providing support to these refugees including the Interim Government of the Federal Republic Of Ambazonia as well as other established groups. The Ayah Foundation from the Cameroons is presently making such visits. A workshop as this will not only keep them productive but it will ensure that they become self-reliant, a skill they will need much when back home to Ambazonia.
It is important to note that within Anglophone Cameroon, thousands have been internally displaced, hundreds sleeping the bush as a result of Cameroun forces action of burning homes, destroying properties, maiming and killing Southern Cameroonians. These category of persons because they are not close to neighbouring Nigeria, they find it difficult to move as all exits have been blocked. The internal displaced persons are living under perilous conditions especially as the rainy season approaches.
