Anglophone Ghost town

COUNTING THE SUCCESSES OF TODAY’S GHOST TOWN IN WEST CAMEROON!

If you are from West Cameroon, you should feel proud after the happenings of today.

A big statement was made today. Anyone with an iota of reasoning or doubt should stand up and take notice. Those still refusing the existence of a problem need to hide their heads in shame.

WHAT WERE THE SUCCESSES ACHIEVED TODAY?

i) VALIDATION OF THE CONSORTIUM’S AUTHORITY:
For long many have questioned who were the leaders of the ongoing struggle. In respecting the call of the Consortium, the peoples of West Cameroon, not only confirmed the leadership of the Consortium but also legalized it. There could have been no better way to have said this louder and clearer.

ii) MATURITY OF THE PEOPLE OF WEST CAMEROON:

The calls for no violence were greatly respected. Even when provoked by uniformed men (as reported from some areas), our people showed restraint, not falling into the trap of the government (provocation) which could have resulted in bloodshed. We have shown our maturity by being peaceful and this shall greatly advance our cause and case.

iii) UNITY IN PURPOSE:

One strategy which used to serve the government in the past was; instill disunity amongst the people’s of the North West and South West. However, today’s sit-in strike has shown that these two regions more than before are united. They have recognized that success and liberation shall be achieved only through unity in purpose and action.

iv) STRONGER BARGAINING POSITION:

The massive success of today’s ‘ghost towns’ puts us in a better position when it comes to bargaining what we want. We are united, have a common purpose and above all a level-headed leadership in the Consortium.

V)FRANCOPHONE SUPPORT:
I’ve read posts alluding to our Francophone brothers supporting the actions of today. This support has been achieved thanks to us being peaceful. The government should be trembling for this is not good. It could be an eye-opener for them. Only time will tell.

WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED FROM TODAY’S GHOST TOWN STRATEGY?

* Peace is the greatest weapon in our quest for freedom. Imagine if we had reacted to the militarization of our lands?

* We need to remain United and focused on the goals we wish to achieve. West Cameroon is one. There is NO North West nor South West.

* NO amount of selling out will discourage us from achieving our objectives. If traditional rulers like they should continually sell out the cause because of their greed.

WAY FORWARD

It is important that we remain UNITED and listen to the directives of the Consortium who have shown their ability to lead and guide us to our intended destination.

We must remain vigilant and stay off any provocations from individuals who may want to destroy our cause.

We must maintain Public Relation as we have been doing. Special appreciation to Bara Mark and Tapang Tanku who have been impeccable in this domain.

Our future is bright. Let us not do anything stupid that will jeopardize it. Preserve yourself to enjoy the fruits of the labour you have toiled for. God bless us all and West Cameroon
