BaretaNews can now report that the Yaounde Military Junta court has banned at least five media organs including BBC, Radio France Internationale (RFI) and Equinoxe from witnessing the court case against Ambazonia leaders, reports coming from several Journalists in Yaounde say.
Commenting on the issue, a journalist quipped “This country will never stop to surprise us. Military tribunal sieves media organs away from the court. As at now, I am still outside with about a dozen journalists outside trying to negotiate our way in though the military officers are working “on instructions”
BaretaNews is told that only media organs that pay allegiance to Paul Biya have been authorized to cover today’s session amongst them; CRTV, L’Epervier etc
The case pitting the state of Cameroun and Southern Cameroons leaders who were kidnapped in Nigeria and extradited to Cameroun has aroused lots of international attention.
National Telegraph, a sister media organisation covering the situation in the Cameroons earlier wrote “Representatives of European Union would also today Thursday, February 7, 2019, be present at a military tribunal in Cameroon’s capital Yaoundé for a hearing on ten Anglophone Pro-independence leaders as National Telegraph has been told. In the meantime, proscribing the press might just be another height of Cameroon’s stupidity, a source said”
