The Buea Tech Community aka Silicon Mountain is pleased to announce that the annual Silicon Mountain Conference is taking a giant step forward and moving the Silicon Mountain Conference to Chariot Hotel Complex on the 18th of June, 2016 with its theme being “Think Global, Build Local” and official hashtags are #smconfb16 and #SiliconMountain.

Silicon Mountain Conference ( SMConf ) is the flagship conference of Buea’s technological community which attracts creatives, programmers and community organizers from Cameroon to the Mount Fako area for a day of code labs, workshops, and sessions of inspiration and fun. The event will start with interesting keynotes from Africa’s Digital Leaders such as;

  • Bonnie Fon, the CEO of Bonaventure & Co Ltd, An Investment Banking Firm.
  • Dr. Denis Nkweteyim, the Head of Department of Computer Science at the University of Buea.
  • Fritz Ekwoge Ekwoge, Founder of FeePerfect and developer of the Feem app.
  • Bermond Yange, Co-founder of Colorfluid Design Agency.

 

After the keynotes, there will be inspirational workshop sessions and presentations on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) – related topics, Design, and Community Management.

After the workshops, startups and companies will present their products and services at the booths to attendees. The conference will close with a two-hour networking session where key startup founders and community managers will liaise with corporate guests, business executives and government officials.
