99 years old Nfon VE Mukete, paramount ruler of the Bafaws in Kumba County seem to be on the laser beam from the Yaounde regime. The nonagenarian who just returned from a medical trip abroad, witnessed a failed reception on his honour organised by the people of Meme Division. A reception banquet that had already been read on various radio stations and other journals in Kumba to thank God for the quick recovery of the paramount ruler, dramatically failed, after information from Yaounde banning the event, broke the Kumba population into factions. The event initially put for Tuesday November 14 2017, has now been postponed to a yet unknown date.
According to inside sources, the Secretary General of Cameroun People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) political party, ordered the reception banquet to be cancelled. A reliable source told BaretaNews that Jean Nkuete had questioned why the reception was organised when he was not informed. Confused how the reception ceremony was linked to the CPDM party, the population insisted the event would hold. However, behind the scenes threats, compounded by militarisation of the itinerary leading to the Nfon’s premises, caused the Mukete family to instruct for the ceremony to be postponed.
Nfon VE Mukete of late have staged passionate criticisms of the repeated marginalisation of Southern Cameroons, by La Republique du Cameroun (LRC). Preceding his medical attention, Nfon VE Mukete had heavily criticised the dominance of the French Language over English. In a meeting organised in Limbe by the German Corporation, GIZ, the final document was produced and handed to participants solely in French. That heavily angered Nfon VE Mukete who rained criticisms to the organisers for always provoking Anglophones to revolt. His 15 minutes words of fire to Camerounese segregation of Anglophones increased his blood pressure so much that, he oozed out blood shortly after taking his seat.
The nonagenarian utterances in the restoration struggle of Southern Cameroons have on several occasions been faced with fierce opposition from the Yaounde regime. Jean Nkuete of recent have been on a sanction spree on all CPDM militants speaking in favour of the Southern Cameroons struggle. He recently banned party militants, Elvis Ngolle, and Pascal Charlemagne, from participating in any national debate. It is very clear, the Bamileke CPDM diehard must have turned the radar on Nfon VE Mukete, to distract him off discussing the Anglophone issue.
A source at the Nfon’s cabinet hinted BaretaNews that those generating controversy in relation to the issue are persons who are politically shallow and have nothing to offer. The source questioned why the reception to a man of Nfon Mukete’s standing should cause panic among individuals?

Our Ancestor Nfon Mukete does not need all this things. This noise about throwing a party or not throw it on is returning from treatment abroad is not good for his heart at this age. Leave our ancestor alone.
