A young Ambazonian entrepreneur popularly known as “Boyka” has been shot dead by unidentified armed men in Muyuka, Fako County, Southern Zone of Ambazonia.
According to local sources, the incident occurred on the night of Sunday when armed individuals stormed the victim’s drinking spot and opened fire on him at close range. Witnesses say the attackers specifically targeted the young businessman, killing him instantly before escaping from the scene.
The motive behind the killing remains unclear, and no armed group has claimed responsibility for the attack as of the time of this report.
Residents of Muyuka have advanced different theories regarding the incident. Some community members suspect the killing could be connected to the sale of certain brands of alcoholic drinks that have reportedly been prohibited by some Ambazonia restoration forces operating in parts of Fako County. However, these claims remain speculative and have not been independently verified.
The assassination has once more heightened fear among civilians in Muyuka, a town that has remained one of the major hotspots of the Ambazonia Liberation War. Over the years, the area has witnessed frequent confrontations between Ambazonia Restoration Forces and occupying La République du Cameroun forces, leaving the civilian population trapped in a cycle of insecurity.
The killing of the young entrepreneur adds to the growing list of violent incidents recorded across Fako County in recent months, raising fresh concerns about the safety of civilians and business operators in the area.
