The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo has announced the recruitment of 1,800 elite commandos for the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR). This was made known on 1st October 2016 over the state radio and television.

Government special recruitment will be held between January the 7th to February the 16th, 2017 in all regions in the Cameroons. Candidates are expected to have at least First School Leaving Certificate. Age limit is 18-23 years old. Being single and childless will be an added advantage. Applicants are also expected to have at least a height of 1,66m.

It seems the government is preparing towards the 2018 elections. Cameroon already has a lot of military officers. It is expected that these are forces who are there to continue Biya’s hegemony.

God is still saying something.
