Yaounde Disallows Tumi’s AGC: Will Federalists Now Add their Voices to the Restoration Course?
The much-trumpeted Anglophone General Conference (AGC) convened by the veteran Cardinal Christian Tumi, which was earlier scheduled to hold in the Ambazonian capital of Buea on November 21st and 22nd, has been postponed to a future date still to be announced. It is important to note that; this is the second postponement of the gathering, after the first in the build-up to the to the colonial presidential elections in French Cameroun.
According to the Conference Organizing Committee (COC), the reason for the postponement is due to the fact that the colonial regime has refused authorization for the event. And so one is tempted to ask; Is the COC believing that the colonial dictator and his cohorts will suddenly see the need for the conference to hold and grant authorization, after refusing it before? Wouldn’t that be when they are sure of having the complete process in their control?
It is important to note that none of the conditions given by the conference organizers to the Yaounde regime and those put forth by Ambazonian revolutionary leadership to make the conference inclusive of all Southern Cameroonians was granted. The Ambazonian Restorationists thus saw the conference as a federalist forum aimed at trumpeting a one and indivisible Cameroons under a pre-1972 structure. If the blood sucking regime has refused to authorize a federalist gathering, is it an inclusive gathering with both Restorationists and Federalists that it will authorize?
The colonialists believe that they still have the capacity to crush the revolutionary movement and reassert their colonial authority over Ambazonia. They are ready to spill more blood and a return to a two states Federation as hoped by the Federalists is not on Yaounde’s agenda at the moment. To Yaounde’s political calculations, both the Federalists and Independence movements are just hallucinating.
The non-authorization of the Conference is another blow to the Federalists movement, after the presidential elections catastrophe, which they believed in and had hoped was an avenue to effect change within the colonial architecture and dialogue on a federation. Will they now reason with the restoration movement that it’s either Ambazonia or Ambazonia? Is the carnage by terrorist regime forces across the Southern Cameroons worth a federalist system of government? How many more of their brothers and sisters will Paul BIYA kill and their villages burnt down before they can realize that this colonial experiment has failed and they can no longer be begging to be slaves under a French colony?
Meanwhile, the Ambazonian revolutionary leadership and all bona fide Ambazonians must understand from the regimes move towards the federalist conference that, the colonialists are not ready for any talks even with the so-called moderates. They seem to have been blinded by their decentralization agenda and their 56 years colonial hegemony over Ambazonia. It is time to resist even harder.
Restoration forces must be increasingly funded and equipped with the necessary logistics to crumble the regime in all dimensions. There are only two choices left at this juncture – FREEDOM OR SLAVERY FOR LIFE. There is no middle point. The federalist minority has tried their best. Now, it’s either they add their Voices to the Restoration campaign and Fastrack the movement to a victorious end or they remained silent until the end of the war.
It is a course anchored on TRUTH AND JUSTICE and Ambazonians cannot afford to allow FALSEHOOD AND INJUSTICE prevail.
