Southern Cameroonians in South Africa yesterday in a heated conference that brought them together abandoned their long love for a two-state federation. They have now pledged to support and fight for the restoration of the independence of Ambazonia (Southern Cameroons). The group says they will invest all resources to achieve this aim

Also, they endorsed the interim Leadership of Mark Bara and Tapang Ivo as the interim leaders of the Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium which was recently outlawed by the regime of Paul Biya.




The group is also calling for an All Anglophone Conference to be held in South Africa.

It should be recalled that on Tuesday 17th January, Barrister Agbor Balla and Dr. Fontem Neba together with other lecturers were arrested and taken to Yaounde. Mancho Bibixy, the ground leader in Bamenda was whisked off last night in Bamenda. His arrest has brought heavy protest in the city of Bamenda. Bamenda Denizens have been calling for the immediate release of those arrested.

As it stands, the strike action continues and Ghost towns have been declared every week Mondays and Tuesdays from January 23rd to February 23rd 2017.
