SOUTHERN CAMEROONS WAR OF INDEPENDENCE AND THE “NEVER AGAIN GENERATION”: OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS BY DR. DAVID MAKONGO!!

LAST KICKS OF A DYING HORSE!

Following 57 years of annexation and destruction of the economic, political and social life of the people of Southern Cameroons, the “never again generation” is demonstrating its determination to confront and kick out its demons completely from the internationally recognized boundaries of former British Southern Cameroons/ Ambazonia. Despite its failure in 3 years to crush the “2 little cubes of sugar” and meltdown the determination of the people into fear, retreat, and surrender, LRC fears to negotiate and lives in the past glories of the fraudulent union styled -“one and indivisible Cameroon.”

THE FOLLOWING REASONS EXPLAIN WHY PAUL BIYA AND HIS REGIME FEAR TO NEGOTIATE WITH SOUTHERN CAMEROONS/ AMBAZONIA

1.DISHONESTY AND BAD BEHAVIOUR:

LRC’s bad behavior and dishonest dealings against the people of SC will not allow Paul Biya and the small group of outlaws who surround him and who are holding Cameroon hostage to negotiate. It is not for nothing they avoid genuine negotiations and flee dialogue on neutral ground in the presence of a neutral third party with all options on the table. Without a shadow of a doubt, they know that since 1960 they have behaved dishonestly towards SC and its people despite the latter being the breadbasket of LRC.

2. LACK OF JUSTIFICATION FOR THE UNITARY STATE UNDER INTERNATIONAL LAW:

If Paul Biya and his regime are dragged into an international forum for genuine negotiations in the presence of a neutral third party with all options on the table, they fear that they have zero proof to justify the creation and implementation of a unitary state with the territory of SC/Ambazonia under international law.

As a matter of fact, if the Biya regime is avoiding dialogue with the real stakeholders of this conflict in Ambazonia, it is because French Cameroon will have a hard time to prove on what sound basis from the point of view of international law the unitary state of Cameroon is said to be at this very moment.

It is, therefore, save to summarize that, it will be difficult, if not absolutely impossible for the Biya regime to find the text or principle under international law on the basis of which the referendum of 20th May 1972 on the unitary State of Cameroun was organized. What is even more, the Biya regime faces a hard time as it is totally impossible to show how an independent State like French Cameroon organizes a referendum on territory also independent with the intention of uniting with the latter.

3. NO JUSTIFICATION FOR AGGRESSION AND LOOTING:

LRC cannot justify the aggression, annexation, occupation, and looting of the abundant supply of SC natural resources with its international partners: SC/Ambazonia and Francophone Cameroon are basically two United Nations Trust Territories separated by an internationally recognized border since the Treaty of Versailles of July 10, 1919, administered separately by England and France under two agreements and separate tutelage signed on 13 December 1946. On the contrary, LRC is on UN record as voting against unification with SC.

4. THE UN NEVER MANDATED LRC TO ANNEX SC:

If LRC fears genuine dialogue with all options on the table, it is because Paul Biya and his supporters will have to show the world the legal bases from the point of view of international law on which the United Nations has given them the territory of Southern Cameroons which joined to form the independent Republic of Cameroun since 1 January 1960, to achieve the decentralized unitary State.

5.NO UNION TREATY:

The Absence of any signed treaty uniting French Cameroun with Southern Cameroons is very problematic. If Paul Biya has elected an expensive war over a less costly form of dialogue in resolving the ongoing crisis, it is because he himself knows that he will have trouble explaining on the basis of what international text a territory like the Southern Cameroons whose independence was proclaimed on 1st October 1961 becomes two small separate regions of the Republic of Cameroon in a centralized system of government.

BIYA’S CALL FOR NATIONAL DIALOGUE UNDER PRESSURE IS QUESTIONABLE:

The above analysis provides a thorough insight into Biya’s choice of National dialogue which is carefully masked to hide an expanded CPDM Party Conference. The kind of dialogue Mr. Biya wants in the view of any rationally thinking person from Cameroon is a “419 CPDM style dialogue” where resolutions are prepared way ahead of time awaiting only for the conference day to come for its 100% delegates to endorse LRC’s agenda of another annexation and achieving nothing as usual for the people of SC/Ambazonia.

AMBAZONIA NOT OPPOSED TO GENUINE AND ALL-INCLUSIVE DIALOGUE:

On a serious note, Ambazonia is not opposed to any dialogue. But as a “reasonable people”, they believe in a ceasefire and general amnesty first before any form of dialogue. Again, Ambazonia is not opposed to dialogue, but they believe in dialogue only organized by neutral third party like America with all options on the table, including the right to restore the independence of Southern Cameroons/Ambazonia.

Once bitten twice shy. This is why Amabazonia is challenging anyone quick to embrace Paul Biya’s pronouncement of a national dialogue to point at just one guarantee for the safety and security of anyone (opposed to the killings in SC) who will attend such a meeting and not end up being arrested, kidnapped or killed by the Biya regime?

If History has not forgotten the kidnapping of Consortium leaders in the middle of negotiations with Biya’ Ministers, Ambazonians cannot also forget and will not negotiate with Biya without maximum guarantee for the safety of everyone put in place. That is why no genuine Ambazonian is ready again to risk their lives to sit and talk to the Biya regime if not in a foreign forum like America with a credible third-party mediator.

OBJECTIVELY SPEAKING, CAMEROON IS NOT ONE AND INDIVISIBLE AS IT IS BEING CLAIMED:

Paul Biya and his propagandists who continue to proclaim that “Cameroon is one and indivisible” though Ambazonia controls more than 80% of its international boundaries now are being reminded by the “never again generation” that Cameroon is NOT “one and indivisible”. The “one and indivisible Cameroon slogan being chanted since Annexation in 1972 is like a fat lie told by Adolf Hitler who once stated; “make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it and eventually they will believe.” This belief has expired and Ambazonia is free. The Biya regime must know this; The people of SC have taken back their country and will never give it back to anyone again so needless putting the population of SC under any severe suffering again.

TRUE WAKEUP CALL TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY:

Truth is that thousands of people have been killed, hundreds of thousands of people reduced to IDPs and refugees, hundreds of homes, schools, and places of worship have been completely ruined, children can no longer go to school and the future of an entire generation is in jeopardy because of the conflict that could easily be resolved by the use of arguments as opposed to the use of military force. If the world is now truly a global village where human rights and dignity, the rights to life, liberty and freedom and the rule of law ought to be respected, the problem of SC must be fixed now.

REFERENDA ARE NOT GOOD FOR THE WEST ONLY:

The international community must now stop listening to lobbyists selling only the agenda of big oil and gas corporations while reaping and looting the resources of Southern Cameroons at the expense of the blood and life of the very people that own this natural wealth. It must start taking the determination of the people of SC to be free and independent seriously.

And the least the international community can give SC today if at all they consider its people as fellow human beings is a referendum. If Referendums are good for the Western world in resolving disputes of this nature, then a referendum is equally good for the people of Southern Cameroons/Ambazonia as a matter of right guaranteed under international law to decide their destiny. The “never again generation” has energetically REJECTED the CPDM Party-style national conference, quote named “DIALOGUE NATIONAL” as simply the last kick of a dying horse, dead on arrival!

SELF-DETERMINATION IS RIGHT NOT A PRIVILEGE. GIVE AMBAZONIA AND PEACE A CHANCE!
