Prayer or Action?
As a born again Christian, I believe in prayers. But I also believe in action after praying for revelation. Success is in action and not in prayers alone. You pray for revelation and after God has directed you on what is wrong and what you should do, you have to act.
When people’s lives are in danger, like the case with Cameroon, we should not only ask them to pray, but we should tell them what to do. The people of Iceland didn’t pray when the Panama papers pointed out to them that their Prime Minister had and offshore bank account that wasn’t known to them. They went to the streets and when their Prime Minister saw crowds coming towards his office, he had to resign. Icelandic people are brave people. They are not cowards and we didn’t hear them talking about prayers. They got rid of the person who lied to them.
Before we got the GCE board and the University of Buea, our parents and friends went to the streets. Household names with CRTV like Julius Wamey, Boh Herbert, Ntemfac Ofege, etc had to lose their jobs as a result of their individual actions to defend their people. At UB, people like Ayaba Cho Lucas, Ebenezer Akwanga, etc sacrificed their individual careers to defend that which is right. Our lawyers too are standing firm to defend themselves and are against injustice against Southern Cameroonians and Anglophones. That is what we need from every right thinking Cameroonian – Action.
Cameroonians have been burying innocent souls every day. Apart from the recent train accident, in Mimboman and several parts of Yaounde and Cameroon, the body of innocent women and children have over the years been found dumped, in Douala, 9 children were taken from their homes in 2001 and since then, we haven’t heard anything from them, in 2008, more than 200 Cameroonians were killed, etc. In all these cases, nothing has ever been done to bring justice and to console the families that have lost loved one.
It is clear that the lives of ordinary Cameroonians are in danger. We need to hold those responsible for our security to task. I have seen with my own eyes how a young policeman, who sacrificed his life to bring sanity to the town was mysteriously transferred (after less than a year in office) and a very corrupt and wicked group of guys masquerading as police officers, who own and operate arm gangs who go around attacking people all over the country were brought in to take over his position. Since 2013, those corrupt ones are still there. That is how the CPDM operates. It is a gang of people without a conscience. If we can’t confront and dislodge them, then we have a problem. This is not a matter for prayers alone. We know the people responsible for our problems. We must get rid of them. Their place is the prison.
