Melania Trump Speechwriter Resigns, Guess What Happens Next?

Published

on

This is a developing story. BaretaNews is getting reports that a staffer within the Trump organization has identified herself as the person responsible for plagiarism in Melania’s Trump convention speech and offered her resignation Wednesday.

In a statement, Meredith McIver apologized but quickly said the Trumps did not accept her resignation. In her statement, McIver explained that she included the passages from Obama’s speech after listening to Melania Trump read passages from the 2008 speech over the phone. She said, “Over the phone, she read me some passages from Mrs. Obama’s speech as examples.
I wrote them down and later included some of the phrasings in the draft that ultimately became the final speech. I did not check Mrs. Obama’s speeches. This was my mistake, and I feel terrible for the chaos I have caused Melania and the Trumps, as well as to Mrs. Obama. No harm was meant.”

As BaretaNews earlier said, we do condemn the plagiarism and had called for the speechwriter to be fired because we think it is the best thing to do politically. It seems the Trumps thinks otherwise, they are keeping her. This is typical of Trump.
It is evident he is not running a conventional campaign. Some political pundits think it was a necessary evil from the Trump camp to put Melania on the world stage as most often negative stories sells.
It seems it worked. However, worthy of note is that we have seen reports within the last few hours which show other politicians including Obama plagiarising sections of others speeches but that does not, however, means we should accept plagiarism. It must be condemned. We hope this new revelation helps to settle the issue.
God is still saying something.
