LRC Military Continues Its Burning Spree, Roasting Occupants in Their Sleep

In the small village of Mongo Doi, situated in the periphery of Nguti of the Koupe-Manengouba County, the brutality of La Republique’s forces was felt on Tuesday night, April 3 as Mama Eyele Edia was burned to death in her own home while she sleeps.

According to the watch group of Barrister Agbor Balla Nkongho, Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa, there have been reports of 6 people who shared the same ill-fate of Mama Eyele in that same village on that same night.

Barrister Nkongho’s watch group highlighted the fact surrounding these atrocities in a Facebook post categorically stating that ”Intentionally killing of civilians and destroying civilian property constitute war crimes” and went further in stressing such actions the military ought to be ”thoroughly investigated”

The burning of homes across the Federal Republic of Ambazonia by elements of La Republique’s infantry is nothing new. Kembong and Kwa Kwa are among the few places where homes have been torched, depriving denizens a place of shelter and forcing many to seek refuge in the forest.

The Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa vehemently condemned the ”killings and burning” by La Republique’s forces.  While at the same time, requesting access to these regions for investigative journalists to document these events and granted Human Rights Organisations the permission to visit these areas.
