The government of La Republique du Cameroun (LRC), has announced its intentions to visit Ambazonian refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), in and out of Ambazonia.

Issa Tchiroma Bakary, LRC’s spokesman, said the government will organise a national solidarity and relief efforts, for refugees in the Northwest and Southeast Regions.

He was speaking to the Press yesterday, June 14 2018, during a meeting which he also used to castigate the recent gross human rights violation report provided by the International Human Rights Organisation, Amnesty International.

According to Tchiroma, President Paul Biya, has instructed for the government to provide relief efforts to Cameroonian refugees in Nigeria and other IDPs in the country.

“The Head of State, Mr Paul Biya, has instructed for the organisation for a national solidarity in the Northwest and Southwest Regions. In the days ahead, the government shall visit refugees in Nigeria, and other parts of the Northwest and Southwest Regions,” Tchiroma stated.
Though he didn’t mention, it is likely that the LRC shall call for Camerounese of goodwill to donate in kind or cash for the relief efforts, something similar to the national solidarity for victims of the Boko Haram war, organised in 2014…

Since December 2017 when Ambazonians began fleeing to seek refugee elsewhere due to the restive situation back home, LRC government has maintained a provocative silence, hence, preventing International Organisations from carrying out goodwill gestures, given that they always need the approval of the government in place…
UNHCR says there over 7,000 registered refugees. Other sources put the figures largely above the UN’s.
