In our usual weekend calls to Southern Cameroons to find out the temperature of events, BaretaNews correspondent in Buea has just revealed to us a very sad event that happened yesterday.

He made us to understand that the house of the MP Emilia Lifaka was attacked and part of her building at Clerks quarters was burned. We are also told the attackers were looking for the MP who fortunately was not at home. Our correspondent says the gate man was beaten and he is currently undergoing treatment.

Our correspondent in Buea revealed that rumour had it that the attackers gave a warning asking her to resign from La Republique Parliament.

BaretaNews is following this development. We are trying to contact various sources to ascertain the depth of this information which is filtering into BaretaNews room now.

However,as the UN SG representative said that the situation in Southern Cameroons is deplorable, we of this platform condemn any such attack on MPs and that Southern Cameroonians should keep calling and persuading them to see reasons why they have to leave La Republique rather than attacking.

Stay tuned with BaretaNews as we bring further development on this.

  1. The cars, houses of our leaders now in prison were burnt, they were hunt like animals and are still hunted. We are dealing with an army that is taking commands for a European government, there are evil elements for outside that are listening and trying to negatively exploit our strategies.

With everything that people are going through back there in Southern Cameroon, one can only say things are going to get worse. How can we tell who is really behind this?

A red line was crossed with this present struggle, there is no turning back. We all must keep that in mind.

All Southern Cameroonian and even LRC Citizens must be very careful.

We are so sorry for their lost, may they stay strong.

    1. Atem Bakia, is that the type of heart you want to move into an new country with? We are not fighting against LRC citizens. Our enemy is the regime.

  2. the evil regime has never cared for it’s citizen, they are trying to use this struggle to divide people from different regions, people has to look around their communities and see the lack of care and concern from coming from a dead regime, poverty, poor infrastructures in the communities, the slums, high unemployment, systematic bribery and corruption, no electricity, no water, very bad roads and put an end to this dictatorship of a no hope regime, younger people and working adults must want better lives for themselves and families than what they will ever get from a deaf, dumb, wicked, old regime with never any yearly, profitable investments for the regions and people
